I don't know. Two words keep me from ever being excited about monkeys in a horror film: Monkey Shines

See, I was actually hoping that this was the official sequal to Monkey Shines. Helper Monkey + Scalpel = Awesome.

I love Monkey Shines, dammit. Maybe it's because it fulfilled my lifelong goal of seeing a paraplegic bite the shit out of a monkey.

Odd. My life long goal is a threesome with Diora Baird and Salma Hayek, but to each his own.

I was a strange child.

But seriously, I always thought Monkey Shines was better than most gave it credit for. It tapped into some primal fears of mine, I guess. I hate having to be taken care of when I'm sick, and in the film when he gets turned on by the creature that was helping him live somewhat of a normal life- it's terrifying.

The reasoning behind the monkey flipping out was a little silly, though. But it's not nearly the worst movie that Romero's made (that title still belongs to Bruiser).

Ya know, in a perfect world, we'd be able to merge homicidal monkeys and threesomes involving Diora Baird and Salma Hayek into one beautiful fantasy. I'm just saying.

I was hoping against all hope that this thread would be regarding the bitchin' Skid Row tune, dudes.
But alas, it's just another monkeymovie.

What?!? Everybody knows Skid Row peaked with "18 and Life".

I really don't have anything to say other than that I, too, sorta enjoy Monkey Shines.

Bullshit!
Slave to the Grind is a much better album than the self titled.

for the record, skid row has a greatest hits album so I wouldn't say they peaked with their second song. Quicksand Jesus is my favorite song by them.
