The hell it does. I usually work at least to 6:30. And start at 8:00. It fucking sucks ass.

It depends on where you work. And if you're part of the legally defined exempt class of workers. In other words, I don't get paid overtime.
Yeah I work 9 to 6, 7, 8, and sometimes later, and get no overtime. I make up for it by slacking off. A lot. Like Jim levels of slacking off.
Yeah, I post here at work. And bullshit with the coworker across from me. Not like Jim and Pam, but it beats working at work.
Those last two moments this episode were a great way to show what we've been expecting from the Jim/Pam plotline.

Michael completely not getting it about Jim... and Pam getting bigger ideas into her head.
"Why wouldn't you say it to her face?"

Michael's last bit about the kiss was the funniest/creepiest moment he's had in a while.

That was a great line greatly improved by the incredulous expression on Oscar's face as he said it.

And, while I know some frown upon the more physical humor, Andy's wrecking of the golf cart and subsequent ejection from said cart had me laughing for a good two minutes.

For the Ryan haters (are there any Ryan lovers?), further proof of his douchebaggery may be found in the deleted scenes for last week's episode. Check out as he explains his reasons for going after Jim. Bastard.

I finished my work months ago.

"We're gonna ditch this bitch."

Creed is the man. But I have a feeling Jim is going to propose but Pam is going to want to leave for Philly or New York. Then I'm going to be all D:
I don't think so, gravedigger. From the standpoint of the show, neither Pam nor Jim can leave (they're our straight men, after all). And, playing real life for a moment, it seems that Pam needs a lot more education before she can really get going on her graphic design career. I can't see her just up and leaving. I think there are going to be adult education classes in her future, and that the New York/Philly reference is a hint at where Jim and Pam will eventually end up (together, because only a madwoman would say no to someone who would suffer through 18 holes with Andy and Kevin for her sake).
Michael at the job fair, talking about Pam. SO uncomfortable.

At least half the women in my office would have slugged him after he told the high school kid he could "do her"
Yeah, I'm not quite sure why Pam hasn't said something to Michael yet. I mean, I know she's a little meek, but he's been laying it on really thick lately. A girl can only take so much before someone has to get smacked.
Michael's first conversation with Justin was just brutal. Good for the kid for telling him to fuck off later.
I really hope they're setting something up with Michael/Pam, and it's going to come to a head soon, otherwise Michael is drifting a little too far past asshole and a long way from loveable goon of old. I have faith they know what they're doing.
Favorite line of the episode:
Darryl - What college did you go to, Michael?

I wonder if he still makes more money than Michael does.

Who's she going to report it to? Toby? Ryan? No help from either of those two.

He made less than Michael. The raise he asked for would have made him paid higher than Michael. Michael got a raise though.
I'm starting to enjoy Michael's ignorance less and less. I don't mind him being cartoon-level stupid, but throw in all this recent meanness and he becomes a character I don't care to see much anymore.

You know, I was ready to defend him last week when Devin came in this thread and complained, but Michael has gotten kind of out of hand. I'm assuming that this is because he's being set up to get his ass handed to him in some capacity in the finale (a guess? Jim, who I don't think has ever said an overtly unkind word to Michael, is going to have something to say about the things he says to Pam), but it really was a bit much last night.
I've been bitching about Michael since Season 2. I love the show, but he's been a consistent sore point for me. I wouldn't mind his behavior so much if the show didn't constantly apologize for it with touchy-feelie moments and holding back characters from pummeling his face.

Ah, sweet justice! Arg arg arg!

Hahaha.

I thought he (Darryl) was making more than Michael before he asked for his scheduled raise?
No. It was a ten percent raise that would have been higher than what Michael made. Michael got a 12% raise himself. Presumably Darryl got his raise as well.
Michael's been getting worse lately, but he's been this bad before. I blame a lot of it on his relationship/recent breakup with Jan. That whole mess would put anybody in a bad mood.

"I finished my work months ago"--definitely the line of the episode. Although I got quite a giggle seeing Ed Helms crash his golf cart. He seems to get a lot of the slapstick, physical comedy moments in the show, yet somehow he makes them all work.

I also enjoyed the tension/lessening thereof between Dwight and Angela. Who thinks that Dwight will propose to Angela, and not Jim to Pam, in the finale? Won't be surprised or disappointed if it doesn't happen, but it would sure be cool.

Hugely bummed that there's only one episode left.
Damn, season finale already? I am a bit sad at that, for I can't possibly see them wrapping up all dangling plot lines from this season in satisfactory manner. Then again, this show has surprised me in the past, so I'm sure they'll do fine.

Oh, and Michael, you twit, you should've totally played the "I was only testing you, Justin! You passed!" card when Justin called him out on being an asshole. Just saying.
If this next episode doesn't end with Toby burning down the office, Milton-style, then I will be sorely disappointed.

For some reason I was thinking the season was already over. This is like thinking you opened all your Christmas presents, then finding one more behind the tree.

I think Toby needs his moment to explode, but probably won't get it after they went with that last Stanley storyline.
I've been watching Season Three on DVD since I missed a lot of the episodes. The Toby-Pam interactions are so funny/awkward. I feel bad for him until I remember he's going to sell Jim down the river with Ryan.

I laughed a lot during this episode (especially at Kevin being "slow"), but I was pretty pissed that we never learned the instigating event to make Michael hate Toby.
Kind of a weak episode, especially for a season finale. The most interesting aspect of the episode (Ryan's arrest) only garnered a brief mention.

Another thing, if they are not going to let Pam and Jim get together, then break them up and find a different storyline for the show.
Goddammit, Andy!! I'm really annoyed they blue-balled us on the Jim-Pam engagement.
How about Jan visiting a sperm bank and Michael folding once again?

Dammit...

Plus Dwight and Angela doing it when Phyllis walks in was greatness.

I was hoping it was going to be Kevin and the new HR person.
Oscar had the line of the night.

"If you ask me, the bigger crime was the beard."
"You cheated on me...after I specifically asked you not to?"

Really solid finale all the way around.

Amy Ryan was great. Too many cool moments to mention.

The running gag with her thinking Kevin was retarded was priceless.

Jim giving Michael advice was funny and adorable....as well as Michael's courting of Holly and the fact that she actually liked him.

The ending was cool because almost none of it was expected...several things totally made me want to scream at the TV -- "No, this isn't what he should do" or "This isn't how this should end" -- and I liked that they had the balls to do that and go with a purposefully bittersweet and not completely satisfying ending.
So is Amy Ryan on the show now?
So, is Pam going to just quit her job, or take a lengthy leave of absence?

I, too laughed my head off at the "slow Kevin" moments. It felt like a deliberate nod to those who dislike Kevin's line delivery.

Dwight and Angela--oh no you DIDN'T! Poor Andy (although I hate him right now for ruining Jim's proposal).

So, is Toby really leaving the show? Anybody know? Cause that would be a crying shame.

And Michael going to Jan's Lamaze class...you weak, stupid, pathetic man. Three seasons and he still hasn't had the sense to run the other way. Of course, I believe any child deserves a father--I just hope Michael can actually be a good one (and I have my doubts, let's just say).

Pretty darn good episode, even if it was more "uncomfortable" than "funny" tonight.
So, most likely Jan's kid will have the fetal alcohol syndrome, right?
The episode was so great I don't know where to start.
Yeah I thought this was the best episode of the season, surprised it's getting a lukewarm response in here.
Best episode of the season. By far. Michael is a gigantic dick for cashing all those checks. Amy Ryan was wonderful as the endearing female version of Michael, the ying to his yang. Only he was too stupid to realize she was asking him out.
I really liked this finale. I even found Michael to be very sweet in the way he tried to court Holly. Him latching back onto Jan was understandably human to me. A far cry from the cartoon I usually whine about. I'd say Michael wasn't too stupid to realize that she was asking him out. He was just incredibly distracted with other pressing thoughts. If he hadn't seen Jan, you'd better believe Michael would jump at even subtler hints for a date than that.

Amy Ryan was very cute in this. And I've only ever seen her in Gone Baby Gone!

I'm a little confused as to why Pam would be upset about Jim not proposing at that moment. Would a woman not mind if her guy proposed to her right after someone else's proposal? Or could she not even understand the idea that someone just stole his thunder?

EDIT: Also something about Amy Ryan's performance hints at a lot of hidden pain. Is she going to be a regular next season? Is she gonna be just as messed up as Jan in a different way!?!?

EDIT2: "Don't tell him I said this, but I always thought he was kinda cute!" Pooooooor Toby...
I don't think it was the best episode of the season, but I do think it had the best character moments of the season. I thought that Jim taking a pass on an obvious opportunity to make Michael look stupid was great, with Jim realizing he needed to actually be there to help guide Michael rather than let Michael flame out brilliantly right away with Holly. Michael had some wonderful moments where you could see how caught he was between wanting to be himself and being scared to allow Holly to see that (an awareness he obviously doesn't always have).

Plus, just like every episode this season Creed once again is gold. Him hiding behind the fridge in the break room trying to remember the name of the job he does was great. They give him 2 lines a week and he always knocks them out of the park.

Exactly. And was that the first time we've seen Jim actually get mad about something? I got all kinds of fired up, like "Yeah, Jim, you tell that giant douche where to go!"

Also, something about Michael sitting at his desk and listening to "Crash" killed me.
Best episode of the season, IMO.

Top 3 Moments:

1. "The real crime was the beard."
2. "It was my fault."
3. "That's what she...."
What was so funny about them telling Holly that Kevin was "special" was retroactively realizing that that's exactly how he sounds.

They even managed to give Dwight some sympathetic moments after Angela accepted the proposal.
"Hello mater, great news, I have married. Tell pater."
The episode was great. I even liked Kelly talking about how she is going to get all dolled up to go visit Ryan in prison.

When Amy Ryan first appeared on screen, I literally yelled out "Sweet Beadie Russ" just like McNulty did when he though he saw her in Season 3 of The Wire. Damn I miss that show.

The fact that they found out about Ryan on youtube was classic.

The ending with Dwight and Angela was set up pretty well last week with those two being the only ones left working in the office.
I just noticed this, but the certificate on the wall behind Micheal's desk says "Micheal Scott is the owner of an official SEYKO TIMEPIECE."

It's on display in his office. Framed.
You're awfully observant. Only took you three seasons to notice.
Pure gold. Once again, the writers manage to amaze me with their emotional manipulation, making Michael switch from complete dick to sympathetic character at the drop of a hat. So great.

I'm actually really looking forward to the webisodes so I can get my fix until next season. I wonder if Amy Ryan will be making an appearance in those?
