this was the best after dark horrorfest film so far. I'll be reviewing wicked littles thingees next so watch out. AND WILL THE TIGERS PLEASE WIN A FUCKING GAME AND PUT SOME SORT OF A WINNING STREAK TOGETHER SO THAT BEATING THE YANKEES 16 TO NOTHING HAS MEANING FOR THE POST SEASON!

No offense, but I hate you for recommending this movie.

Honestly, I've rarely been angered by a horror film, but this thing goes nowhere fast. It telegraphs where it's going early on, and then you just sit and watch it go there by the most roundabout route possible, all while it congratulates itself on how well it's hiding its destination. And don't get me started on how the brother could possibly have put together his facts about what's going on. He pulls this stuff right out of his ass, and just happens to be correct.

I really did not like this film. At least High Tension waited until the end to betray itself.

Okay, I don't really hate you. It was hardly a ringing endorsement. I suppose I would only have been satisfied with "Stay Away" in large block lettering.

I think I gotta agree w/ Greg. COnsidering this was the only After Dark film from last year's fest to generate any pre-fest buzz b/c of its director, I was prety psyched to see it, and very disappointed indeed w/ the end product. It wasn't the worst of the lot (IMO, THAT distinction goes to Unrest), but I didn't like it nearly enough to even put it on the long list of DVD's I might have wanted to purchase following 06's Fest, let alone the short one. To each their own, I guess.

I saw three of the films from the film fest. All of them were ok, nothing special.

Was there any movie that was good?

Personally, I liked Wicked Little Things and Penny Dreadful the most. Dark Ride and Gravedancers were just OK for what they were, and Resurrection was some pretty good J horror,but I didn't quite like it enough to buy it. The Hamiltons & Unrest just sucked. In my opinion, of course.

But for some reason, maybe just because it was the last of the 8 to be shown, there seemed to be some excitement in the theatre for it. People seemed really anxious to see it. Maybe they thought the best had been saved for last? If so, their faith was definitely misplaced.
