Mountain Dew Game Fuel

Has anyone else tried this. I'm addicted.
I have and im wired with it. Its good but would be better if it did not have that distinctive mountain dew aftertaste. (Types while spermcount lowers).

Who wants to bet that some die hard fanboy will save a whole bunch and sell it on ebay in a couple of years?
Wouldn't be surprising.

I tried this out a couple days ago fully expecting to hate it because of the bad buzz in the Halo 3 thread. So I was surprise to discover that I really liked it. Of course, since I wouldn't normally drink sodas, I will probably only pick up a 12 pack of this before heading out to pick up Halo 3, just so I can be a super nerd and drink it while playing.

So is it just name-branded LiveWire, or does it have a different flavor?
Livewire is orange, this is like Code Red with a citrus twist.
To me, it tastes like the purple Skittles from the tropical variety.

What he means is at the factory they just mix code red and livewire and slap on a pretty Halo label.

I've had like 8 of them in the last two weeks.
I had this stuff for a week (it was on super clearance at the grocery store) and it tasted like crap (and yet I was addicted). Since then I've switched back to regular diet Mountain Dew. I don't know if I could drink this stuff again.

Out of the can it looks like Live Wire but it tastes like some really nasty, weird citrus cream soda. I would not really recommend it.

I'm hoping GF's "limited time only" is like Livewire's limited time only and this stuff stays in sotres on a regular basis.

Like I said...I'm addicted.
I was in the minority, but I liked Pitch Black; the original version, before they added the sour part.

I picked up some Game Fuel tonight. It was pretty good, but I prefer both Code Red and LiveWire to it.

I just wish that Bahau Blast would come to a store instead of just being at Taco Hell
post #12 of 43
I'm still trying to figure out why anybody sets foot in Taco Bell in the first place.
Grown-ups drink this stuff?
Drinking scotch while I play fucks up my gamerscore.

Drunken BioShock makes you fearless. I recommend it.

You shut up Greg! Some of us neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed the tacos. Actually, come to think of it, I haven't been to the bell recently. I did try the special Taco Bell Mountain Dew that Ash is talking about, and it pretty much tasted like Mountain Dew spiked with pledge.

I used to be wholesale addicted to Mt Dew, and I think I was heading straight for Wilford Brimley's fan club, so I only drink it in the diet variety now, with the occasional exception when I want a big energy boost (like before I play a show). If they release the Game Fuel in diet I might try, but I wasn't a fan of either the live wire or the code red. I really wish they'd put out a diet variety of AMP though.

Because it's fast, cheap, and amazingly delicious.

And, the MD Game Fuel tastes like carbonated cough medicine. Yurk.

I haven't seen LiveWire in stores for years. Easily my favourite soft drink of all time. Like an orange Mr. Freeze on steroids.

I'm sure you could order it from a site like BevNet.

I still see it at the store here in Wisconsin (it was sitting on the shelf right next to the game fuel). I love LiveWire but don't have it much anymore since I gave up non-diet sodas for the most part.
The fact that it is cheaper than any soda in my grocerystore is a sign to stay away.

You're right on the first two points. As for the third, I'll just have to assume that you've never actually had real Mexican food, or in fact, real food of any kind.

Honestly, you'd have to be real good and high to make believe that Taco Bell's food tastes like anything at all. It's the blandest thing you can possibly put in your body and reasonably expect to digest.

What do you think of Del Taco?
I haven't heard of that one. We have Taco Del Mar, which I think is pretty good.
Wikipedia says of Del Taco: "The chain now has more than 490 locations across the United States and is second only to Taco Bell in Mexican quick service restaurant market share."

Del Taco's an odd place though. They also have hamburgers and fries and stuff like that. It's mostly known because it's cheap and open 24 hours making it the perfect food stop for the high and drunk at 4 AM.

Wow. I've really never seen one here. Seattle is often the last place to get these things. We didn't get Krispy Kreme until about five years ago. The transplanted east coasters got all excited, and the rest of us had no idea what they were talking about.

Mountain Dew Game Fuel also comes in Slurpee form.
Everything's better in Slurpee form.

This stuff is nowhere near as good as LiveWire. If I ever find some again, Rob, I'll save a few for you. I looked in Texas last month, but came back empty handed.
Is LiveWire the orange flavor? I went through a phase when Code Red was my drink of choice for staying up late and studying.
Livewire is the orange flavor. I still see it around here during the summer. Never much cared for it though.

I made the mistake of drinking a couple cans of it late one night.

I went to bed at 10am.
I'm kind of hoping enough 13-16 year olds die from drinking so much of this stuff that Xbox LIVE becomes a friendlier, happier place by the time Halo 3 rolls around.
I'm afraid it'll be worse and we'll have masses of teens going through Game Fuel withdrawl.

Of course, you can't compare Taco Bell to real Mexican food(or even REAL food for that matter), but as far as cheap fast food goes, it's at the top of my list. I'm done with McDonalds, Wendy's, Burger King and the rest. Gimme a bean burrito with no onions any day!

Comparing Taco Bell with an authentic Mexican meal is like comparing sex with a blow-up doll to a nice lengthy naked encounter with a member of the sex of your choice.

But on those lonely, lonely nights, an Enchirito can taste like heaven.

I had the Slurpee form of this yesterday.

I couldn't believe I liked it. I haven't tried the bottled form, though. I'm typically not a Mountain Dew drinker, though.

I still See LiveWire all over the place. I'm having the Slurpee form of Game Fuel right now. It's ok, but not nearly as good as the bottle form.
I just found out last night that this shit is pretty good mixed with jager.

*edit- I was already drunk, but it's worth a try.

I'm sure all the other 17 year old girls think so too.
