FUCK YOU, Andre Johnson. I dumped Harrington and Pennington and picked up Matt Schaub, and figured he'd be a better start against Indy than Leinert against the Ravens. And now Johnson's out maybe five weeks. Now I'm not sure if I stick with Schaub, go to Leinert, or grab Josh McCown for one week.
As strange as it sounds, I may go with McCown. Leinart's done nothing it seems and this week he's at Baltimore. I would say stick with Schaub, but I heard an interesting stat this week: the Colts' D hasn't allowed 100 yards by any receiver in the last 25+ games.

Well, it's decision time in my dynasty league. The guy that's leading the league right now is desperate to take Tom Brady off my hands. However, he doesn't have a first round pick in 2008. I originally told him it would take Deangelo Williams (I have Foster), Garcia or Boller/McNair or Grossman, and his 2008 1st rounder for Brady. Now that he doesn't have a 1st rounder, I'm really re-considering. I'm weak at LB (even though I have like 10 LBs--they all keep fucking getting hurt), and he's got Roger McIntosh who is doing well. I may make the same offer but take a 2nd rounder that he acquired plus McIntosh. I'm already kind of tossing this season aside, because this is the first time in a long time that I kept my 1st round pick so I'm hoping maybe I suck enough to draft Darren McFadden or another stud RB and then a WR in Round 2 (if I take his Rd 2 pick). I've already got Roethlisberger, so whomever I take would be my b/u for the most part. I considered Garcia, but would take Grossman in a heartbeat if he were freakin' consistent. Comments?

EDIT: Well, I kind of held the guy off for now. Looking at this roster, there's just nothing there that I want that he's willing to part with. I need another consistent RB, and he's short of RB talent and WR talent. He's living off Gore, Garcia, Gates, and Calvin Johnson at the moment. If one of those guys comes up short in a game, he's screwed.

What the hell business does Anquan Boldin have going off on the Ravens like that? Bastard cost me my game.
Well, I actually won this weekend, so I'm kind of glad I turned down the trade. And he lost this weekend. Heh. We'll see how this week goes, as I'm favored for the first time this season.

I tossed LT out on the trading block to see what kind of offers I get. I need to do something.
Wanted to do that with SJ last week but I decided to wait. bad, bad move.

I'd give a back and a WR for LT at this point. Can't see you getting much more. I still have hope for him. Too bad this isn't CHuD.

I'm not pulling the trigger unless it's a hell of a deal. I'm just floating him to see if anybody bites.
Yeah, I'm pretty much reserved to taking no less than a 1st round pick in '08 plus a good WR/RB for Tom Brady. Whether I'll get that, I have no idea.

I've been offered Anquan Boldin and Jeremy Shockey for LT. Seeing how WRs get points per reception and RBs don't, this tempts me, but Arizona's QB situation has me feeling a little cautious about Boldin.
Figured I'd toss this out on this thread to get some answers:

In a pay league I'm in (I have 4 altogether, including CHUD), I've been offered Laurence Maroney, Sammy Morris and Ben Watson for Reggie Bush. While I'm 1-2 in the league, I have struggled mightily (35, 68, and 85 pts) and it's in large part to Mr. Bush and Drew Brees. I'm debating.

The prospective team also has Willie Parker, so I'm thinking of switching out Maroney for Parker, and see if the guy bites. Thanks.
There are a ton of injuries to worry about this week. Rudi, Green, Boldin, Westbrook, LJ, Jackson, Plaxico, Delhomme, etc. etc.

I have a dynasty league where through good trading have acquired a lot of talent at RB & WR. With a WR core of Chad, Andre, Boldin & Mark Clayton I never thought I'd have to be starting waiver wire recievers. I picked up Andre Davis and am just hoping for the best.

I'm new to the site but am really enjoying the place so far. It's cool to see that there are people with a lot of knowledge about MMA, fantasy football etc. besides just knowing movies.

If the guy gives you Parker I'd take him for Bush for sure. I wouldn't take the 3 he's offering though. If Bush stays healthy he could be a stud with McAllister injured. I'm sure that's what he's thinking which is why he's going after him now.

I'd pass. In my league with 1/2 PPR LT is 10th in RB scoring and he's been terrible so far. He'll get it going and will have more value than these two. Boldin is banged up now two. The only way I'd consider it is if you have stud RBs on the bench and are starting guys like Reggie Brown & Marcus Pollard at WR & TE.

Hopefully my advice doesn't come back to bite you in the ass but I'm just being honest with you.

you won't get Parker but what about his WR group, As much as I like Maroney(when healthy) and Watson I'd shy away from teammates esp. if you have trouble scoring. Try to get his #2 WR instead of Watson.

Seeing as Shockey is always hurt it's basically Boldin for LT. You can get much more.

I said no to the trade, more for the QB instability in Arizona than anything, but I do think LT will come around.

Now I have to decide between Thomas Jones and Marshawn Lynch for the starter opposite LT. Every place I've looked is high on both of them this week. I leaned towards Lynch at first, now I'm on Jones. And I could go back and forth a couple of dozen times between now and Sunday.
You're right, it's a coin flip. In the end I'd edge towards Jones just because the Jets have a better O than Buffalo.
Come on, Patriots, I need 5 more yards from Sammy Morris. Give me that.

EDIT: Goddamnit.
Hey! My two drafted starting RBs were steven jackson and cadillac williams! awesome!

Fuckin' injuries. I may be starting a sammy morris/earnest graham tandem next week. May be time to deal.
I'm glad I made a point to get Moss in my work league. When that fucker ran a 4.29 forty back in April, I knew the real Randy Moss would be back.

So I played our league's scoring juggernaut this week. He's got TO, Chad Johnson, and Steve Smith. Total points from that trio this weekend? 11. And somehow I pull out the win to get to .500. It's not pretty, but I'll take it.

Yeah, I wouldn't take that either. Shockey is really erratic, and a Top WR is no substitute for a Top RB. LT will get back on the wagon soon enough.

Yeah, I made it to .500 this week in my Dynasty league. Here's our league so far: 4-0, 3-1, 8 teams at 2-2, 1-3, 0-4. And I'm actually in 3rd place right now. Let's end the season now!

We've got two 4-0 teams, a 3-1, and then everybody else bunched at 2-2 or 1-3. I've got one of the 4-0 teams this week, and I'm catching him with three of his four running backs on their bye week, so looks like I caught another break.
The guy I played this past weekend started Byron Leftwich. He just got into the league in the off-season, and jettisoned most of his old team. His QB's are Garrard, Leftwich, and Beck (rookie from Miami), so he just played a hunch and started Leftwich in case Harrington got benched or hurt.

That's what I did. The final trade ended up being Maroney, Morris and Braylon Edwards for Bush.

Problem was I started the wrong Pats RB this week...
That's a solid trade, Braylon is worth WAY more than Watson. He could finish a top 10 WR for sure(he's probably in that range right now).

Just to give you an idea of how unafraid of the waiver wire I am, here's my team at the start of the season:

QB - Matt Leinart
QB - Joey Harrington
QB - Chad Pennington
RB - LaDainian Tomlinson
RB - Marshawn Lynch
RB - Thomas Jones
RB - Jerious Norwood
WR - Joey Galloway
WR - Greg Jennings
WR - Mike Furrey
WR - Chris Cooley
WR - L.J. Smith
K - Stephen Gostkowski
D - Cowboys

And here it is now:

QB - Chad Pennington (dropped and re-added)
QB - Matt Schaub
QB - Matt Leinart
RB - LaDainian Tomlinson
RB - Marshawn Lynch
RB - Thomas Jones
RB - Jerious Norwood
WR - Joey Galloway
WR - Shaun McDonald
WR - Mike Furrey
WR - Andre Davis
WR - Roddy White
K - Stephen Gostkowski
D - Cowboys

Norwood is probably the next to go, even though he was one of my keepers.

Okay, the owner of Carson Palmer has put him on the trade block and is looking for receivers. I'm thinking of offering him Pennington and Galloway. Thoughts?
I'd probably want Leinart or Schaub above Pennington for Carson Palmer. But if he's offering Carson Palmer, then something must be wrong with him, or he's worried about this season (which he shouldn't be).
Thread Starter
Well, he's 1-3 right now, and he only has 3 receivers on his roster -- Burress, Vincent Jackson, and Derrick Mason. So he really needs receivers, and his other QB is Vince Young, who I guess he's happy with as his #1. Or he really needs receivers more.

And Pennington is more to sweeten the deal so he might take it -- QB pickings on the waiver wire are slim, and this way he's getting another decent starter and a WR.
Ok, that makes more sense. Yeah, Pennington & Galloway would probably bring him in, especially if he's got Young already.
You'd make out sticky-sweet if you can get Palmer at that price. Go for it.

I submitted it. He has to accept, and then it has to be reviewed by our Board of Directors. Wish me luck.
It's essentially Galloway for Palmer. If I'm on that board I'd say no. Palmer is behing only Manning and Brady. I think you need a top line reciever for him.

He rejected it anyway, and I'm not willing to throw any more receivers at him.

Okay, advice time. I've got someone making a second run at a trade for LT. Here's his lineup (mine is a few posts above):

QBs -- Hasselbeck, Losman
RBs -- M. Barber, Maroney, C. Taylor, K. Keith
WRs -- TO, Steve Smith, Chad Johnson, M. Jenkins, D. Bowe, K. Curtis

I'm thinking I need one of his big 3 receivers at least, plus probably Barber so I have another back, so I'm thinking of asking for TO and Barber. Thoughts?
That's a pretty fair offer. Wow his WRs are amazing, Bowe is a good 3rd and is starting to put up huge #s(that might change after Kennison comes back though) and he's got him off the bench plus 3 out of the top 7 WRs on my board even if their #s aren't there. Owens is probably the safest bet at WR for you to get- who knows how long Delhomme is out and Smith hasn't done much with Carr playing. Johnson is obviously a stud but apparently he's in a walking boot right now. I have him in a league and just hope he's 100% after this bye week.

Really it just boils down to how much you need/want the WR upgrade. I still have faith that Tomlinson finishes a top 3 RB but then again if Jones gets hurt Barber will put up #s similar to Tomlinson. Like I said though it's a fair deal so I don't think you can be knocked for making a deal like that.

Well, he countered with TO and Laurence Maroney for LT. Not sure I like this since Maroney is injured and with the way Bellichick plays things, you never know when he's actually playing or not. But I have this nagging suspicion that Turner's offense is going to leave LT out to dry, and with the way Romo is playing, TO may be more valuable.
Even though I'm don't know the scoring system I'm not a fan of the Maroney part of the trade. Morris is playing well and he may steal many of Maroney's TD's in the red zone.

If you have 2 decent backs ask for Bowe and TO
post #90 of 96

Exactly my thought, I offered him that trade half an hour ago.
Thread Starter
The other team accepted the trade, and right now the voting is 1-1 for the trade in the league. I'm a having a little remorse, but I can't shake the feeling that Turner is going to ruin that offense, and that after 4 games, we've seen what we're going to get from the Chargers this season, and it's the same thing I can get from Lynch, Jones, and Pittman. With the way receivers score in this league, TO -- and Bowe -- would be a huge help to my team. I might even see what kind of offers I get for him -- someone has Roethlisberger and Santonio Holmes on the block, and someone else is dangling Palmer. I could possibly parlay LT into three or four players in the end.

Tom Brady, die in a fire.
In my long-standing keeper league, I needed five points from Jeff Reed and 'Fast' Willie Parker to win my game last night.

Parker gets 93 yards (we get 1 point for 100 yards rushing) and CONTINUES to get pulled on the goal line by Tomlin, and Reed gets four points. I lose by one.

Sometimes I really hate this game.

I mentioned this in the CHUD FFL thread--I withstood his TDs in the CHUD league, and then rode him plus a bunch of players that all happened to show up on the same week to an 80 FP victory. For only the second time in this Dynasty league (after like 4-5 years I think), I'm above .500 at mid-season. Of course, the last time I was doing decent at mid-season, I proceeded to lost all but one of my remaining games.

What I hate is how I consistently make reasonable decisions that blow up in my face. I have the Cowboys and Titans defenses, and last week I figure there's no way the Dallas D does anything against the Pats, while the Titans are playing the offensively challenged Bucs. So of course the Titans D does respectably as far as points go while Dallas scores a touchdown and piles up double digit points.

Then this week, I read that Sammy Morris is out and Maroney is still gimpy, and last week Brandon Jacobs was losing goal line carries to Rueben Droughns. Marshawn Lynch is going against a brutal Ravens D while Thomas Jones has the sieve-like Bengals lined against him. So I start Kevin Faulk (thinking he'll vulture goal-line carries away from a dinged-up Maroney) and Jones. They both post goose-eggs while Jacobs and Lynch sit on my bench with 8 points each.

I just need to think, make a decision, then do the exact opposite.

Oh, and I picked up Leftwich thinking Pennington doesn't have long to go, and now he AND Schaub are hurt. I could be mightily screwed at QB.
Baltimore is not what it once was. I had no reservations starting Lynch this week, knowing that at home, he'd at least punch one in.
