I wants a PSP - Page 2

Their warranty policy:

If you need to "use" the warranty to replace something, for whatever reason, that's the end of the warranty. Boom. Used up. Gone. Buy another please.

As far as why I recieved a refurb, isn't that what happened to everyone who had 360's get red-light-o-death'd? I'm more pissed off that I had to hand them something 2 months old in pristine condition (was in a protective case since the minute I took it out of its original packaging) and get some beat up junker some punk kid could have been whipping at his sister and jerking off to photos with. It's even got some shit under the screen, I thought it was a dead pixel but it's just some fragment of something white under the glass.

Maybe I'm over-reacting but fucking hell, thats the last time I buy hardware from that place. It took me forever to track down a copy of Lumines to downgrade the thing without forking over 80 bucks to those Ebay vultures too. Just a piss off in every way possible.

The second part is EB policy, and it's because it's not warranty but a "replacement plan." The other part, however, is just wrong. He definitely should have gotten a new unit. The policy states that the replacement unit must be of equal or greater value.

Anyway, my advice to Trejo is to actually take it back and get money back, which you should be able to do if you've had it less than a week. Either that or call corporate and complain about getting a refurb instead of a new unit.

I don't think there's much of a difference. A little bit lighter, and the load times are supposedly a fraction faster, but that's about it. Oh, and you can now hook your PSP up to your television and have your friends laugh at you for being lame.

Forgot how great Kid Chameleon is. I just transformed into Jason Vorhees and the background music is just an angry-sounding guy chanting "Die!" over and over again. And when you get hit, Kid Chameleon says "Bummer" and he sounds like Stephen Baldwin. So wonderful.

I got nothing.
This is the best solution I have found. It has been a godsend for long trips, since the company laptop doesn't have a dvd drive, but I can store extra movies on the hard drive and then transfer them to the memory stick when I ready to watch them.

Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters is fantastic. Graphics that shouldn't be possible on a handheld, and just a ton of fun to play.

I've started wiping my ass with my DS, that's how much I love my PSP.

I read in Game Informer last night that a new version upgrade for the PSP in 2008 will allow you to use the PSP like a SlingBox for your PS3. So you can, from anywhere in the world, access your PS3 and play videos, music, and games that are on your PS3. That's pretty fucking cool.

The DS was a novelty that grew old utterly fast (for me, at least). I love the PSP, but I'm starting to replay the same games over and over again. How are the controls on Ratchet and Clank? Not struggling with the lack of a second analog stick has become my number one PSP priority. That and rewatching the last five minutes of Ghostbusters while on the shitter every week or two.

As for the PS3/PSP functionality, as with all things next-generation, I'll believe it when I see it (I'm not just talking about Sony, either).

They're not perfect, but they're serviceable. The default scheme gives you 360 degrees of motion with the analog stick, while the directional pad controls strafing. Switching back and forth felt really awkward to me, though, so I changed the settings so that now I run in any direction when I'm holding my wrench, but as soon as I pull out a gun, the analog stick switches over to strafing mode.

But the camera is pretty smart, which goes a long way in a game like this. And unlike something like Battlefront, they don't pussify the difficulty level to compensate for the new control scheme, so it's still nice and challenging.

My only real complaint is that the controls for the hoverboard races are a little twitchy. But most of those are optional anyway.
