I spent much of the weekend making Kurosawa movie shirts. I'm right now rifling through my favorite movies and trying to find some kickass screen caps. I'm such a nerd. Check out some of them if you like: www.cafepress.com/nordling

Edit: if you feel the need to move this to Shameless Plugs, go ahead.

Cafepress can be kind of cool but seriously, who the fuck is buying the thongs that are being sold on there?

I should so make a Takeshi-Shimura-on-the-swing thong.

What's the deal with Cafe Press? Can you make money if people buy those shirts? And can you put anything on those shirts? Was just wondering about the legal ramifications about using other people's work (screencaps, posters) on clothes.

I tried making a Christopher Walken shirt awhile back and they told me it was copyright infringement, so hurry up and buy your shirts before they catch on!!

Huh, I'm not sure. The pics I used were all over the Internet and not from any DVD, I didn't use screencaps on those. I had an idea for a shirt that would probably not be a good idea to sell, but I can still make it for my own personal use. I'm not sure exactly how that works.

I use http://www.goodstorm.com myself. You can set price as low as $6 (they take a percentage of your profit rather than upfront with a base price), but they're a new company and the printing's seriously hit-or-miss. I also looked into http://www.spreadshirt.com and it looks interesting, but I haven't used them yet.

I only use Cafe Press when I need a teddy bear who's wearing a t-shirt that says "if you're not outraged, you're not paying attention!" in jokerman font.
