I thought it was funny. Then again, I laugh at punctuation jokes.

John Byrne is unbelievably anal about what's said about him on Wikipedia, so I'm not surprised to see his name in that list.

Oh, the article is funny. It's the discussions that are monstrous.

Case in point:

"Tiger
A revert war on whether the tiger can properly be described as the "most powerful living cat" (complete with accusations that people were "tiger fanboys") gradually led to arguments about how tigers would match up vs. bears and crocodiles, complete with another revert war about the inclusion of a YouTube video showing a tiger fighting a crocodile, eventually leading to the article being semi-protected. The debates about bears and crocodiles continue on the talk page."

I can't believe how much I'm laughing over "tiger-fanboys".

Tigers are cool and everything, but any creature that can be controlled by a spray bottle loses a little credibility with me(I'm referring to the monastary that has a runs a tiger sanctuary, in the documentary I saw they literally controlled the tigers using spray bottles like they were house cats).

I heard a lot of grad students get into it as a way to procrastinate. Lords knows I've seen articles that could use some work.

Worse then that, many them know next to nothing about the subject they are writing about.
My own favorite Wiki War is the endless debate over whether Joseph Stalin should be called a dictator. A few hard core Marxist have made that page a joke.

Have you ever had some act like they're in a club when they're around you? Saying stuff like "Wiki-Editiors are cooler than non-Wiki-ediors!"?

Becuase I have. And those people were, not to put to fine a point on it, fucking stupid. They're the gatekeepers between you and the information you're getting if you use Wikipedia. A frightening prospect.

To think there was a time when Jimbo Wales was spouting off in the media about how Wikipedia would supplant (and ultimately shut down!) Encylopedia Britannica. And now his wonderous creation is pretty much banned as a citable source from any half-decent academic institution.

Hilarity.
