Here is one of my drawings. I painted it, but ended up liking the pencil work much better. If you want the see the colored version, go here:

www.jesusweptart.blogspot.com

It has some christian stuff. If you are not into that, just check out the art. There are links to more of my art there as well.

Any feedback is welcomed.

So where did the first white Jesus come from? Was is the Roman Catholics?

Anyway, it's some really good art. Did you just use graphite pencils?

Your art is nice, but I'm disappointed because I thought this was a Hellraiser thread.

Of course Jesus was white. He turned brown absorbing our sin.

Or do you think God would have a mixed race baby? Answer me that, theologian.

Jesus wept - pencil drawing painted digitally

Not that His ethnicity really matters - but it seems that geneticists are saying that the DNA of the ancient Jew is closest to the Kurds and Armenians (how they know this is beyond me). This actually makes sense though, because Father Abraham is from Northern Mesopotamia (Eastern Turkey); and this geographic area is home of the Kurds and Armenians. You can do a Google/Yahoo image search to see the faces of these people (and indeed they are not “white” – in the Western European sense). I actually did this piece with those reference peoples in mind. You can also find articles about Jewish genes that mention that about the Kurds and Armenians. I do not think it coincidental that both of these peoples have been targeted for genocide at various points in history (just like the Jews).

And yes, I drew that with pencil and blending stump, and then touch-up with B&W digital painting. The colored one at the site was painted with digital painting – Corel.

Do you D&D characters? I have a 5th level cleric that would look so cool.

Jesus wept - biblical art

No, I do not do D&D at this time. I like Biblical. At this time I am working on some sequential art about John the Baptist - "I am the voice in the wilderness..."
