Afghan girl sold to man when she was 7 to be bride

Her father had gambling debts so he sold her to another man when she was seven. She burned herself to protest the marriage when she was 11. If I were ridiculously rich, I'd try and do everything I could to get her out of there and bring her here to Canada and try and give her a new life. Jesus fuck. I couldn't even imagine living over there and growing up over there. I know it's their "culture" and "beliefs" and what not but... fuck.

"Culture and beliefs" only stretch so far, when they get used to stretch over and smother basic human rights then they snap and can fuck off.

This was one of those "Marry Our Daughter" chicks, right?

Yeah...I know better. And for the record, there are few things more contempible to me than the thought of a man more or less selling his own daughter into slavery. Customs and culture be damned, that's just wrong on every fucking level.

Yeah, but it's like you only get half the work out of a girl than you do a boy. It's only fair you make some sort of profit on the deal if you can.

Culture and beliefs really have nothing to do with this, at least in this case, the girl just happens to have a real douchebag of a father, selling his daughter is just an act of idiocy because he'll most likely gamble again and he'll have nothing to bargain with next time.
