Wonderful.

Sweetness incarnate.

For those of you who haven't seen this yet, it's possibly the most pure car movie ever made- just pure open road. It's not exciting, or enthralling, or knock-your-teeth-out awesome. Like all the great iconoclastic movies of the seventies, it just exists. It's something to experience.

I guess it says more about me as a person when I'm looking forward to Criterion's upcoming incarnation of Fuller's WHITE DOG (which I've never seen, and hear is simply one of those films you have to see to believe) than TWO-LANE BLACKTOP. I mean, I'll still be digging into the set, but my fingers are all fidgety about the former.

Well, it ain't sports. Both are awesome, as is Days Of Heaven. Two-Lane is different. It's special. I ain't got the words...

I'm most psyched about the DVD having the screenplay. I haven't found it (and stopped looking a while ago, so please tell me if you have it), looking forward to reading it. In Danny Pearys' Cult Movies, they quote the film as having the girl saying to the driver "you're not letting anyone else in your movie". This line is not in the finished film, so I'm thinking Peary pulled it frm the script?

I'm so psyched for Days of Heaven. Watched it again last night and was internetting it today and reminded myself that the Criterion is coming soon. Great. Days of Heaven is a perfect movie - it feels like it's part of my whole being.

WHITE DOG is something of a white whale. That said, you live in LA, it played at the Egyptian not so long ago. Actually it was probably two years ago.

I love Days of Heaven but with The Lady Vanishes coming out that's the one I'll wait for.

He also describes The Girl swimming naked in a lake with the guys watching. Actually, most of the film Peary describes doesn't seem to exist. Maybe he just read the screenplay and forgot he hadn't seen the film.

I just learned yesterday about this release. I already have the special edition DVD but, you can never go fast enough so I'll be double-dipping.
