Yep! And he's actually on the commentary track, which kicks butt.

They do have it at Best Buy. I was actually kinda surprised at that, but they usually carry budget-title horror flicks. It's only $10.

Yeah, it's a great disc. Horrible, horrible art, though. Wish they went with that badass original poster-

Also, I think Robert Forster serves as a movie geek litmus test. If the only thing you know Forster from is JACKIE BROWN, you're not a true movie geek.

Similar to how if the only thing you know Orson Welles from is TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE, you're officially disembrained.

Yeah, the art is some pure Sci-Fi channel shit, but what can you do? If Sci-Fi Channel had existed 25 years ago, I'm sure ALLIGATOR would have been a marquee movie for them.

The disc isn't super stacked, but its fucking ALLIGATOR. The fact that a studio put it out with a COMMENTARY is kinda mind-blowing. It's a neat little JAWS copycat, and great fun, but its the sorta movie that most people just barely remember.

The original poster actually looks damn scary.

I like the scenes where its obvious a real-life gator on a half-scale model set. The effects work has the old sort of monster movie vibe where everything looks kinda phony, but it was clearly done with the best of intentions.

Any movie that you can describe the plot simply by restating the title is automatically great.

"Hey, watcha watching?"
"Alligator."
"Oh, what's it about?"
"Alligator."

I think the makers of Snakes on a Plane were banking on that logic.

I don't know what makes me giggle more, thinking that "manholes" (from the new DVD cover) is a double entendre... or imagining that "break out" (from the original poster) means that the gator just may throw down some cardboard and spin on his snout.

Alligator! I haven't thought of this movie since I was a kid, yet I still vividly recall the tiny alligator getting ominously flushed down the toilet at the beginning of the film. If only society had known better.

Wow, what a blast from the past. I loved this movie as a kid. The alligator destroying the limo scene gave me nightmares.

He kills the mayor of Chicago in this movie. That's a pretty big win for the alligator, I'd say.
