Songs you wish you could force others to hear

You have those songs that mean so much to you, that you wish you could tie people to a chair and force them to listen to in a meaningful way? Name some, and maybe a couple people will take the opinions of great chewers and join you in your fanaticism (or find others who love the songs that mean the most to you). Here's 3, all hip hop:

Cunninlynguists f/ Masta Ace "Seasons"
While not only having the legendary (and perpetually underrated) emcee Masta Ace on the track, but with the four emcees each taking one season to represent the progression of hip hop from a pure art form into the commercialized bling-fest it's (ice=winter) become today, this wordplay infused song makes me both nostalgic and weirdly sad for a time when I saw the genre as something way simpler than it's become today.

J-Live "Epilogue"
A song as much about creativity and the balance between commercial success and meaningful artistic quality, the song has a bittersweet nature to it with an artist coming to terms with this internal conflict that brews as a professional musician. J-Live is a high school English teacher, and it shows in his rich lyricism...seriously, I view listening to this song like reading a great book. There's so much to glean from it every time I listen to it.

Mars Ill "Lump Sum"
Brushing aside the fact that Mars Ill may be the ONLY Christian hip hop group widely respected in the industry, the track lists people in lead emcee's manCHILD's life that have made him who he is today...it's one of those heartwarming songs that makes you adjust your view of what hip hop can do... Not to mention Dust's beat is viciously driving.

anyone got suggestions?

Are we talking songs no-one's really heard of or just any old song?

Nine Inch Nails, "And All That Could Have Been", for my girlfriend. It's been a rough weekend, and I'm emoing pretty bad.

Usually I only feel like I could force people to hear songs that belong to genres they usually don't even try to hear.

Right now I wish I could force some people to hear the Thompsons' "I Want to See the Bright Lights Tonight". There's a lot of people out there to whom folk is somehow verboten.

Broken Social Scene's "New Country"

Sleater-Kinney did a cool cover of this song live. You'll have to hunt it down and acquire it quasi-legally, but it's worth it and could be used as a way to sneak Richard and Linda Thompson into someone's diet. In fact, I'm listening to it right now.

I've got nothing to add here, as I'm not really comfortable foisting my musical opinions on others. Generally speaking, people are indifferent, have lousy taste, or take having non-LCD taste in music as a sign that one is a big, fat, pompous jerk. So why bother?

1983 (A Merman I Should Turn to Be) by Jimi Hendrix

Of course I'd have to force these people to eat a few tabs of acid as well.

Peacebone by Animal Collective

Most people I try to show it to think it's annoying instead of amazing, which is the correct answer.

Liz Phair's 'Table For One', off of her last album, hence why very, very few people have heard the tune. It's surefire proof that she hasn't lost her deft storytelling, and musically it's one of her best. A tender, harmonious lullaby fit for anyone battling any kind of addiction or demon.

Probably "Jesus, Etc" by Wilco

Anything by the late, great Beulah.

There's many, many more but those are all I can think of at the moment.
