Fucking Wal-Mart - Page 2

I don't understand the Panic Room scam either, but I appreciate the good laugh.
I think the kicker to that scam is that Wal-Mart unloaded PANIC ROOM on him.

They'll never find Enough though.

I got the Criterion Armageddon DVD for the same price as the regular one at Wal-Mart because the employees were a bunch of clods.

TAKE THAT, SAM WALTON! I OWN ARMAGEDDON NOW, SUCKAAA!

Yeah but you're still not ripping them off. They made the error. So they ripped themselves off. If you switched price tags or had a buddy who worked there ring it up as the same price then that's ripping them off. But as it is you got lucky.

Some would say owning Armageddon on DVD is quite the opposite. Deal or no deal.
But hey, not me. SCREW YOU, WALTON!

I've never understood ripping off companies (places like Best Buy or Wal-mart). If they're loosing money they'll fire people or cut back their hours so they don't qualify for benefits to save money. Or they'll increase the prices on items and the costumer then has to pay for it.
I never intended to "rip off" anybody. I said "I don't have a receipt, but I would like to exchange it for another title". I never once said I purchased it there. I never lied or anything.

Furthermore, Wal-Mart will take anything back. Even a half a jar of pickles. I shit you not. So, I don't think anybody will lose their job over this.

As far as a gift reciept goes, who actually tells somebody "Hey, I got two sets of HEROES: Season One for Christmas, and I'm taking yours back. Got the receipt?"

I joined Columbia House years ago for the 6 DVDs for $0.49 each. I met my agreement, and just never have canceled.

I put the gift receipt in with the gift so if the recipient wants to return/exchange the item, they can. I'm classy like that. I give fuck all if someone wants to exchange something I give them. I'm not gonna be offended.

So, we've all learned that if you want to rip off Wal-Mart so you can have a copy of a crappy movie you may or may not be successful at it depending on how thoughtlessly craven ("All I said was I wanted to exchange something they didn't sell me for something they owned. It's not like I lied.") or pointlessly pointless ("I bought a lame movie for TWICE what they were charging for it!") you want to be.

Duly noted.

To answer your original question (and not to downplay the many valid slams that followed it), the reason that you only got $15 for Distubia was likely because that's the lowest price they've ever sold it for in the store (probably on sale the week it was released). That's common practice in retail when dealing with receipt-less returns.

In response to my Wal-mart scheme: I meant to include that the Panic Room dvd I bought was the 3-Disc(not the single)and I got it at a great deal because everywhere else its like between $24 - 32. Yes, I probably should have replaced Enough with another movie(well, theres always next time)but I was more concerned with getting out of the building at that time than swapping.

P.S. - I have the Special Edition of "Enough", who wouldn't wanna own a movie where J-Lo gets her ass beat up on a regular basis.

Wal-Mart had a big sign up saying they'd be selling Halo 3 at midnight, and then I went over there last night and they weren't. So, scam away, unless your scam makes no sense.

I was watching TV and the Sonic commercial came on where the two guys were talking about sneaking their food into movie theaters and stuff and then the one guy said he could sneak into another Sonic with the food and eat it there. That would get them, he said!

Reminded me of this thread.

But you still paid $14 for it when you would have paid $7. So ok, maybe you paid half the cost compared to other stores but you still should have just bought the two packer with Enough since you didn't save any money anyways. Why not just have another copy of Enough and give it to someone as a joke gift? A "Secret Santa" type of thing at work. Or donate it to a battered womens shelter.

I'm so sick of seeing Sonic commercials. "America's Drive-In" yet there isn't one in LA. Closest one is Anaheim. I've never been to a Sonic. So, scam them to if you can.

Yeah, I still don't see how removing Enough sweetens the deal. Saves some space in your trashcan I guess.

There was no use in writing anything after that. There is no justifiable reason to own any version of Enough, let alone a SE.

LOL, I should have known I'd get shit about that response.
