..not that I blame them, but what should Marc Foster and the studio do?

'Kite Runner' actor's family wants rape scene cut.

Yeah, but aren't rape scenes part of the formula for a movie over there?

Heard this on NPR the other day. Odd way of marketing the film I say

Addition to my question...

Is an Afgahn film considered a Bollywood film? If so then, I answered my question.

The filmmakers should have known about this before picking authentic Afghan actors, and just brought somebody in from the outside. It really looks bad that they didn't even consider this to be a problem.

So watching Rambo 3 must be like watching Afghani history then. Seriously, that statement sounds bizarre, but you know the same happens on lesser levels here. Not as in we think what happens on screen is real, but actors are associated with the roles they play. Like if you mentioned Ned Beatty to someone who didn't know the name, you might say something like, "You know, the guy who got assfucked in Deliverance." "Oh, that guy."

Of course they can't. They're blankets.

I just saw the trailer for this in front of EASTERN PROMISES. Sort of looks like NOT WITHOUT MY DAUGHTER, only more like NOT WITHOUT MY DEAD FRIEND'S SON.

Real beheadings on YouTube: fine.
Fake rape in a PG-13 movie: JESUS FUCK NO!

ETA: Kidding of course. But it does seem like there is a larger cultural disconnect between the West and the Muslim community causing numerous global problems, which is a latent reason why the people behind The Kite Runner production did not foresee this consequence of hiring actual Afghani actors.

Neither can Republican primary voters. This is the entire basis of Fred Thompson's campaign.

There are plenty of Americans who can't tell the difference either.
