And the thing is, girls that age don't get it. 22 and 16 must set off some kind of bells, because when I was 16, there was a 22 year old guy who'd hang around our skating rink, going after the teenage girls. And for a brief while, he was going after me. Nothing happened, but when I told my older sister, she freaked out, saying that at 22, he shouldn't be pursuing a 16 year old. I thought she was really overreacting, but now as an adult, I think she was absolutely right.

I approve this message. My wife mentions that she dated guys in their 20's when she was a 14-16 and insists that she was mature for their age (a big goal for teenage girls apparently). My wife is a whole five days younger then me. But in my family that's reallly weird as we all seem to like the older women. My parents were the same age (three weeks apart) but every other guy (grandfathers, uncles, cousins) married an older woman. Never doubt the charms of an older woman, people.

On the OP side of things, it would all depend on the people. I know a woman who started dating her husband when she was sixteen and he was 23. It was one of those rare cases where she really was far more mature then her peers. The age difference never entered into it. They just clicked.
