Hockey cards.

About 10 years ago I was obsessed with hockey, and I don't know what quite possessed me, but I bought a LOT of hockey cards.

I now have several large boxes of cards that I've been carrying from residence to residence, and I'm tired of them sitting in the closet. Since I now live in an area where hockey isn't nearly as important as it is in the more northern climes, my options seem limited.

a) I could buy a new Beckett's and go through and snipe the pricier ones and put them up on eBay (or to an eBay store, because that's easier). If I do that, do I throw away the generic cards, or give them to someone, or what? But, quite frankly, that's going to take a lot of time.

b) I could just try to unload the whole bunch of them, but I'm not sure if anyone would want all these cards (the shipping and handling would be outrageous, plus there are some good cards in there, from what I remember - I put some of them in special cases).

Could I possibly just take them all to an eBay store and let them figure it out?

Does anyone have any ideas about how to get rid of these without necessarily giving them away?

Try a trading card specific store (or a sports memorabilia store). They often take collections on consignment to resell to other collectors.
