Art Wanted

For my website, I'd like to add a graphic of a horse. A little cartoon- or comic-ish to be used as a bit of a mascot and to illustrate things (like have it getting a shot on a page about vaccines, for example).

The idea would be to come up with an idea that would be something I could continue to develop, or to establish a relationship with an artist who could continue to produce images as needed as the site develops and grows.

Feel free to PM if you have questions/comments.

In response to questions:
- This may involve being a paying gig. I am happy to pay a reasonable amount for a good 'mascot' and having someone who can provide further illustrations on an as-needed basis. I have no idea what a reasonable amount is, though, so if you know, please PM me or post it here.

- The idea is based on illustrations in a common textbook. Obviously I wouldn't steal their illustrations, but I really like the idea. I've scanned in a page and attached it here so that you can have an idea what I mean.

I've never known a "horse doctor" that didn't make house calls.

There are a number that don't. Also lots that do both in-clinic and ambulatory work.

For clipping? Does your vet groom (or perhaps you means shoe) your horse?

No shoes here, no need to (and I do know the difference). Clipping the hooves was my meaning. Now I've gone and hurt your feelings like you are just a blacksmith or something. Just a bit of Tom Foolery on my part. I think your website could use a bit of sprucing up, though.

Which is the point of the art work needed thing.

In the event you don't procure an artist, just lighten up on the site. Horse people are extraordinary as I'm sure you know. Good Luck and Regards.

I like it clean and professional. A number of my clients do not use the internet extensively and thus anything that is going to take time to download on dial-up is a bad idea. Anything more than subtle color annoys me most of the time. I'm still looking for art if any illustrator is interested.

I can understand why you have no takers here. These folkes are awesome illustrators, nothing against you personally. Subtle colors???? dial-up download????? You may have well put a knife to their creative throat. I'm screaming "Christ, these are the best, the best living new talent around and you want a simple fucking cartoon?????" And tell them how to do it? I know you mean well, but these guys ROCK!

I can do it. IM me.

Yeah. Limitations are creatively strangling. That's why no one has ever been able to write good haiku.
