2007 MLB Postseason - Page 6

Well, now that A-Rod has opted out of his contract with the Yankees, I hope that doesn't influence Boston's negotiations with Mike Lowell.

nice. Now that annoying guy at work will shut up now that the Rockies are done.

Well we can tie a little bow on what was, without a doubt, the least compelling post season of my lifetime. Was there even one moment of drama in the entire 3 rounds? Boring as fuck.

I blame Dane Cook and Frank TV.

This is the single greatest weekend of my life. First my best friend gives birth to a baby girl, and now the Red Sox win the World Series. I just bought my 2007 Champions hoodie. WOOHOO!!!!!!

Safe to say the Red Sox are the new Evil Empire.

Along with all the other Boston area teams.

Dirty fucks.

What a fucking season. Wire-to-wire, best record in baseball, won the AL East, came back from a 1-3 ALCS deficit, swept the World Series yet again. WOW.

This is such an important and amazing season in Red Sox history. I hope it's only the beginning.

Seriously. Our superstitious rotation went 11-0. My wife is even freaked out.

congrats to the Sox...

Congratulations to the Red Sox fans here. That series was taken with authority.

The best part of game four for me was the Sox fans chanting "Don't sign A-Rod" as they're winning the World Series.

Yeah, I'm a lifelong Sox fan and even I have trouble arguing with that. On the radio this morning they were talking about how "likeable" this Sox team is. That's undoubtedly true, but then, those ultra-successful Yankee teams had likeable guys too: Jeter, Brosius, Posada, Tino, etc. It was the machine and the Yankee mystique that became "evil," and the Sox seem destined for the same. Plus, Sox fans on the whole are becoming just as insufferable as Yankee fans were on the whole in those days, and it's sort of worse. They were snooty; we're boorish. Different ways to skin the cat, but in either case that cat's ending up without any fucking skin, dig?

But having said that, I don't want to take anything away from what a remarkable year and postseason this team had. That Rockies team had as hot a final six weeks as a team has ever had in baseball, and they ran into a buzzsaw. Congrats to the guys, congrats to the owners, congrats to Terry Francona, who didn't seem to make a wrong move.

I hope they do what they have to do to keep Mikey Lowell, and I hope that means they don't touch A-Rod with a ten-meter cattle prod. What a classless way to make that announcement.

Between this and the Pats, please don't let Boston College make the BCS championship game or else everyone in that town is going to be completely insufferable.

I know I'm late to the party, but 'Huzzah!'. Winning, while it may be more common to Boston fans these days, never gets old. It always feels good, whether it's expected or not.

Congrats to Lowell, love that man and I hope, with Series MVP, they do all they can to keep him and continue to develop the talent to keep their payroll down.

Anyone with good photoshop/art skills draw up an image of the Four Horsemen all wearing various Boston sports jerseys? We truly are living in the end times!

Yay Red Sox. Evil Empire or no.
