Is playing at The Landmark on Pico this weekend. It starts Friday 10/05.

Tickets are available online now.

If it's playing there next week, consider me there.

It's not at the Arclight? I guess I won't be seeing it on the big screen. Fuck The Landmark.

What's wrong with The Landmark? You hate Mark Cuban?

I've been there..

I like Cuban and 2929, but I only like The Landmark in theory. To quote myself in the Jesse James thread:

This is one of those films where you just want to sit let and let it wash over you (note: there's a better way to say this), and here we were hearing twenty people go on and on about their seats or whatever at regular volume, not whispering. Then during the film, everyone decided to laugh during dramatic scenes, seemingly at random. "Oh, look a tree! That's some funny shit!" What were they expecting? I've never had that experience at the Arclight, and their Godfather martini is the shit. Sure, parking is free. And yeah, the tickets are three dollars cheaper. But as I said, I'm not going back.

Wow, what a fucked up audience. At Jesse James no less....wtf?

Yeah, and I've never had a bad experience at The Arclight. In the history of ever.

Arclight's eh...not too bad. Still have yet to do the Landmark, am doing so for Into the Wild on Saturday, may do so for BR: TFC on Sunday.

I'm still liking the Landmark quite a bit. Been there like 5 times now, and only one of those experience was slightly less than satisfactory due to one audience member. Though it's going to be difficult choosing to see Darjeeling Limited at the Arclight or this at the Landmark. Probably end up doing both.

Got my tickets for tonight at the Landmark.

Will see Darjeeling Limited Sunday.

MORE HUMAN THAN HUMAN!

WB was treating the screenings at the Landmark like they were test screenings. If you want me to fill out a survey you should give me something for my time. Like even a coupon for 10 bucks off the DVD or something would have been good.

What time did you go? I didn't get anything like that at the 11:30 show. Also not sure I like the digital projection. While the picture was clearer than I've ever seen a movie, it also felt flatter and more dead.

I was at the 10:30 show and I thought the picture looked great.

I got the survey too. 7:50 pm showing. My friends all filled it out, but I agree with MikeShayne. Pay me bitches.

I couldn't believe how crisp the image was. It looked amazing. My only complaint would be that, since it was so clear, the miniature sets looked like miniature sets more than I'd ever noticed. However, the Tyrell building was an exception. In the first sequence where it was on screen, it looked incredible.

It was cool to see the film after having lived in SoCal for a few years now. I could feel the 'LA-ness' of it that I didn't have a grasp of when I first watched it as a teenager in the South.

Also - The audience behaved like they were watching a classical string quartet play. Soooooo quiet. It was nice.

Well I wish I was in your screening then. The 10:30 had a guy who clapped like a giddy girl at any new stuff.

I'm not saying the picture looked bad, it just felt off. Like I was watching a giant LCD tv instead of a movie screen.

Man, I hate to say this, but I also do not like The Landmark. I've had two movie going experiences ruined there - the elderly people in my screening of ASSASSINATION OF JESSE JAMES nudging one another and being annoying as all hell ("whadd he say?" "what?" "what?") almost ruined it for me.

Then, at LUST, CAUTION the dude behind me was rubbing his feet on the ground in his rubber shoes every 5 minutes and making a sound like he sure as shit was masturbating. Plus when I told him to stop he ignored me and then the management didn't do a damn thing when I complained. And it wasn't just me complaining, as the woman two rows back muttered rather loudly "who the hell is making that dirty noise?".

Plus, to think about BLADE RUNNER being ruined by those two combined - a masturbating elderly couple, well, that would be about my luck these days with that theater.

That's right. Kennesaw.

I just came back from Blade Runner at the Seattle Cinerama. But I'm ashamed to say that I barely watched the film at all.

I've tried to watch some iteration of Blade Runner for years. It never fails to put me to sleep. Something about it makes me lose focus and nod off. I don't hate the movie. I've never even seen it for real!

I thought if ever I was to get to see this film for the first time, it should be in theaters. And I just wasted that opportunity again. Gar!

The film did look amazing though. There's never been any doubt about that. I just can't get into the damn thing!

Just wanted to say something, and I couldn't think of the right thread:

It's an interesting to me that much upset was caused on the BLADERUNNER set when Scott gave an interview saying he'd rather work with a British crew, because they had a better attitude about work. This lead to his American crew fighting this untruth by... slacking off and wearing disrespectful t-shirts. The American crew apparently viewed the gig as a pay day, and didn't care that Scott's grand vision might take some hard work to realize

Then ALIENS comes along, with American director James Cameron working in England on a sequel to Scott's iconic sci fi film. A big problem on that production was a disrespectful, lazy crew who were in it only for the pay day. They viewed Cameron as an unworthy American coming in to make a sequel to a great British classic, and so responded by fighting him every step of the way, assuming that the film would be terrible. Now it too is regarded as a classic!
