Great review. After loving all of his novels, Haunted really put me off, but I think I'll pick this one up now.

It's definitely more like his older stuff, although I can see people being turned off by the concept of this one. He continues to be great at making up crazy situations and making you feel like you're learning about a kind of people you never knew existed, atlhough his characters aren't as interesting as they used to be...

I read this a few months back and I would say that it's probably the weirdest book Palahniuk has written yet. Anyway great review and I totally agree with what you said here:

"At the end you're still not sure what really happened and who to trust, and that's one of its strengths. You can take from this book what you bring to it."

So what's this book about again? A bunch of punk kids?

I really don't like books that read like your listening to a bunch of letters. It works effectively in small doses.
