Super Robot Wars: Original Generation Anime OAV

Finally! After years of Super Robot Wars oav's,video games, toys, etc in Japan, the franchise is finally arriving in Reigon 1. The problem in the past is that there were rights issues. There were too many different companies involved. From Japan there were Toei,Bandai/Banepresto,etc and from the USA: Marvel Comics, Mattel, Jim Terry Productions each have had rights to some of the Super Robot Wars Characters. As an answer to that dilemna, Bandi/Banepresto have released a Super Robot Wars with their original characters. I saw the trailer and there are plenty of Super Robot fights, flights, and chase scenes to satisfy any mech fan.

On the one hand, I have to admire your determination in continuing to post here despite your unparalled neg repping, your devotion to topics most people could care less about and the fact you stick to your guns on your opinions, which vary widly from those with IQ in double figures.
On the other hand, please lose both your arms to leprosy.

Lose my arms...Linus UK? Then I will type with my toes! I mean why post in the Super Robot Wars topic if you are just going to attack me. Yes, I realize everyone else does it...but still... I thought you might actually be interested in the oav.

I imagine that said by a Dr. Seuss-like character in my head.

Luca S, I forgot that not everyone knows that OVA's are common when bringing an anime series to a foreign market. Thank you Detonathor for answering Luca S question for me.

There are at least 5-8 robots. On the official site there are at least 4 super robot pilots, ergo...there should be an equal number or more villains. All the mechs are new. Because of licensing issues there are no appearances by Getter Robo, Mazinger, or sadly Grendizer. Super Robot Wars Original Generation has an official website. I think it is superrobotwars.com, but I cannot be sure. On the official site there is Wallpaper, a trailer, and screen shots of the major characters.

So what happened to better robot wars and ordinary robot wars?

Billy Love, Obviously the Super Robots tech won out over the better and ordinary mechs. Super Robot is a description of a more heroic than militaristic mech. Ufo Robot Grendizer is a super robot, Gundam is mass produced military tech.

I just watched the first ep of Super Robot Wars: Original Generation. It is a fun anime OAV. The prequel series will also be arriving on DVD in R1 but I don't know when that will be. Still, while it is not as good as the SRW with all the licesed robots, Grendizer, Getter Robo,Mazinger, Gundam, Voltron, etc it is still worth a look if you grew up on super robot anime.
