Unfortunately, co-op is not available over Live, though, which is annoying as fuck. Fragile Alliance sounds fucking brilliant, though. Can't wait.

Yeah, I've been dying for some great co-op games since I set up the dual 360s in my living room. Halo 3 co-op, so far, has just been "okay" in my book. Something like this, designed from the ground up to be co-op, sounds great.

Doesn't hurt that it looks pretty decent to boot.

How much playtime have you had with this, Alex?

Wow, Fragile Alliance sounds awesome. If they can do co-op for that mode over Live, why can't they do the campaign?

None! Hoping to get some soon, though.

Split-screen co-op is more fun, usually, but I wish they had the time to do online as well. Not a dealbreaker for me, though.

That's really strange, that they're unable to do co-op over Live...

Fragile Alliance should be fucking sweet, particularly amongst friends, as Alex pointed out. This end of year is fucking bizarre in that there's way too many good games coming out all at once.

this game screams generic GTA clone.

You are completely clueless.

Even the title is completely generic. Were Kane and Lynch the toughest names the developers could come up with?

Just the opposite for me. I enjoy playing co-op games with my brother who lives four hours away, so if it doesn't have Live co-op, this just got bumped down.

I've been torn between this and Army of Two for the next great co-op experience (right now, I think it has to go GoW, the co-op Live on that was just great) so it looks like K&L will be a rental and Army of Two is a buy.

The point is that you called it a GTA rip off, which is an incredibly ignorant statement. There's an enormous fundamental difference between the two; GTA is a sandbox game, and this is not. Saying this game is a rip off of GTA is like saying Stranglehold is a rip off of GTA. And that's dumb.

There's an "interview" with Kane in the new issue of Playboy. It ultimately leads to a blog site at www.peterstack7.com. I haven't checked the site out yet but this Stack guy is a journalist whose family was killed during an job by The 7, the crime syndicate who Kane works for.

Since the game takes place after Kane is sent to jail, I'm not sure how big the scope of the battles will be but the interview alludes to a bunch of huge jobs Kane has pulled off in the past. The job which caused him to be sent to jail was a big robbery where 25 people ended up dead.

i read an interview with the developers where thye talked about how they wanted to make a game that was like all the best action sequences rolled into one.

there's a shoot out in the game that's pretty much the robbery from Heat.

I've been looking for a good local co-op game for a long time. There's only so many times you can play Gears of War with your buddies. It's either this or Dynasty Warriors, and I've already played one of those. I'll definitely be getting this.
is this the game that was being described as Overlord with guns and two scummy looking/homeless lead characters?

Dammit, I was sure coop would be available on Live. I'm still very interested though. Playing Heat is sure to be great.
Can you play co-op online with the PS3? I only see the XBox comments.

Major revival, but seriously this game is aces until about the halfway point. The sudden switch from urban combat and bank jobs to an all out war just exposes a shit ton of problems the games style had been masking up until that point.

I completely agree. The shift from the urban setting to the war was so sudden that I thought I accidentally skipped a mission or a cutscene or something. It feels like a completely different and much weaker game.
The war part sucked and I never ended up going past it. But the bank job was fun as shit as was the prison break. Although fighting that damn dumptruck was a bitch for me.
I never played it after the dump truck. The aiming was not the best area of the game and i tried that mission like 12 times. That was it.
Fuck Havana, there's a section on the Freedom Fighters level which is just utterly retarded and has made me return the game already.
The game really could have used more time to make it better becuase it seriously was pretty bad in some spots. That being said I really loved playing it and I loved the storyline. I didn't mind the change in Cuba but I hated that damn dump truck. Also the snipers in Japan were a real pain in the ass.
