It was caming out over here in 2008 anyway.
Now, if this means PAL gets pushed even further back, then I'll be annoyed.

I'm surprised that you find the Prime games to be forgettable, particularly the first and the latest games.

I think the way video game media has blown up in the Internet age has really made game delays almost inevitable. Since there's so much information getting tossed around, companies are pushed to announce release dates just to get hype going on their products. Plus, there's so much more involved in creating games now - especially with online functionality - that it's gotta be a helluva lot tougher to accurately estimate anything.

It sucks, but it's pretty much par for the course in the modern age of gaming.

It's a weird thing. When I'm playing them, I'm loving every minute of them, completely immersed. When I turn it off, I never think about going back to it. I haven't even finished Corruption and it's not bothering me at all, and I'm the most anal person about beating games I've started.

To answer the headline caption: "Not one chance in hell."

This does beg the question as to why, though...well, all the bitching in the world won't make much of a difference and, as stated, we got tons of games to be playing this holiday season (in addition to Halo 3, but that's 360).

That just makes the usual early year crapfest a helluva lot brighter with an even more polished Smash Brothers game!

Why does nintendo have to suck so bad. The Wii is turning out to be a really shitty investment. Is that new boxing game out yet? I wanna rent that when it comes out. Metroid is a weak game. Metroid Prime was just ok. I don't know where anyone gets off calling the wii next gen. there hasn'tbeen a single good third party game yet and the first party library is pathetic. i think mario galaxies should be ok. I usually just get the multi platform games for 360 since the graphics are better, it supports 1080p, and because the achievement system. everytime nintendo brings a system out i get suckered into buying it and then they dont make any games for it. i saw a guy buying nba 08 for wii and i was just shaking my head. who the fuck wants to dunk with that stupid wii mote. where are the first person shooters!? oh and dont get me going on the launch titles. red steel can lick my balls. AND WHERE THE FUCK IS MY NEW ANIMAL CROSSING GAME!?

at least we know smash brothers will be fun for a few days but you want to talk about a forgettable game...the cube's smash brothers...damn that had the lasting appeal of crystal clear pepsi.

and another thing! why are the people that play Halo 3 so mean? they are a bunch of meanies! im pretty good at the game but I hate playing with people that i don't know personally because kids are always yelling into their mics about how somebody is a homosexual...or in their words, a faggot.

I could have written the first three paragraphs of this story. Alex is the cooler, NYC-based version of me, apparently.

Anyway, I don't give two shits about Super Smash Brothers but any delay of a holiday game is fine by me. I hate the profit-motivated obsession with flooding the market with decent games only during the holidays.

No, it's fairly common, as the good people who waited patiently the extra year for the first Metroid Prime, and Twilight Princess will attest. The difference is that when Nintendo delays stuff, it is, without fail, always for the better.

That said, with the extremely crowded 360 slate this fall and Mario Galaxy already fulfilling the Wii's Triple-A title quota, everybody wins here. Especially our wallets.

There really isn't much to complain about when the Wii is still releasing the roster of games you mentioned before the end of the year. Of course it probably helps that I don't give a damn about Smash Brothers. Still, a more polished game is always preferable than something rushed to meet a release date. Now if only Hollywood would learn the same thing...
