We also have word that New Line Cinema's 40th Anniversary Collection (due 11/20, SRP $274.99) will be a coffee table book that includes DVD versions of Pink Flamingos, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Player, The Mask, Se7en, Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, Boogie Nights, Wag the Dog, The Wedding Singer, Rush Hour, Blow, all three Lord of the Rings films, Elf, The Notebook, Wedding Crashers and a new documentary celebrating New Line's history. Here's a look at the packaging...

now thats pretty damn cool.

Pretty cool, but they really need to lower the price to something like $150. I could get most (if not all) of those movies for less than $8 with little to no hassle.

What, no Ator the Invincible? I thought this was gonna be comprehensive. If they've been around since 1967 they'd better have some obscuro oddities sitting in a vault or a salt mine somewhere.

Hell, for a while you could literally get the DVD of The Mask in boxes of cereal.

And who doesn't own all the Lord of the Rings movies by this point?

A coffee table book with movies, some of which I already have. I'll pass.

It's a neat idea but yeah, you could totally buy all these movies for less. Plus get the extended versions of the LOTR for like $50 now too. They should have just re-released some of their "classics" in new packaging or something.
