Perfected cunt, that is.

She speaks for Repulicans and Christians everywhere. And they can't figure out why people are so sick and tired of them.

The sky is blue, water is wet and women have secrets.

Saw this earlier on CNN.com - I'm amazed people still pay any attention to her.
She says shit like this SO people will pay attention to her, since they don't listen to anything non-controversial she has to say.

Nail on the head.

And I am Christian (although some Evangelicals may disagree) and generally Republican (who happens not to like the current Administration). In no way does this idiot Coulter speak for me.
I am a Christian but Ann Coulter does not speak for me or my beliefs.

Bottom line, everyone knows what Coulter's shtick is. I also think most of us whether we be Atheists, Buddhists, Hindu, Christian, Jew,etc... can agree that Ann Coulter is a venomous, hateful person who only cares about getting attention.

It's sad that someone will hear her talk and think that all Christians agree with her.

Yeah, I forgot the Sarcasm quotes. My Dad is a pretty devote Baptist, he gets so red faced whenver she or Fallwell or one of these other blow hards make Christians look like raving idiots. I don't understand why somebody in the GOP doesn't asign some better handlers to her, or a muzzle or something.

I undretsand that, but you'd think after all the times she's put her foot in her mouth, the general public would've gotten a clue by now and really drive her nuts by ignoring her. Or smacking her hard upside the head with a shovel - whatever works.

Were I not a forgiving man that shovel would have long ago found a new home. However I try to forgive and let God do the punishing, he's better at it than we are anyway.

The problem is not Ann Coulter - she is what she is (whatever that is). The problem is the networks that have her on as a guest again and again and again. If you have a problem with her, complain to them or boycott their programming (which sucks anyway, for the most part).
"Christians believe the Old Testament. You don't believe our testament."

So by that logic, Muslims are superior to Christians AND Jews.
I don't know how far complaints and boycotts will go - I'm almost certain that networks look at airing her vile garbage as an automatic lock on 30% of American viewership. The effort's still worth it, though. Get her the fuck out of the public arena and replace her with someone who isn't a terrible human being.

Good luck finding that type amongst neo-conservative mouthpieces, though.

And it's an odd "logic" to begin with as she makes no distinction between New and Old Testament Christian Churches. But that's neither here nor there, she's still a hate monger and YT is right.

I'm a Jew. She's a dirty, puss filled, shit spewing, maggot infested cunt. And that's that.

You can't get her out of the public arena. Unless you want to have her arrested, but for what? We still have free speech. She and her ilk are here to stay as long as the networks are calling to put them on camera. Decrying someone for saying what a lot of bigots in this country feel but won't say is pointless. If they love her, they love her. But you don't have to pay attention to her or watch networks that invite her on as a guest. If you and anyone else who finds her offensive removed all energy directed toward her and her affiliates, you might be surprised how much more effective that is than condemning her while giving ink and bandwidth to both her and those who patronize her services.

The networks are dinosaurs anyway.

Good points all around. I try to do my best about saying that marginalizing these hateful dolts is the most effective way of dealing with them, but sometimes don't practice what I preach - especially since I still find myself a bit shocked at the audacity of things she says, and incredulous at people allowing someone who willfully brings down the concept of rational discourse to curry such favor with media outlets.

I understand the free speech angle, and she's certainly free to be a douche, but the whole situation is still utterly confusing to me.

Don't let them confuse you. The only thing to do is to focus on things that are important, not get distracted by things (and people) that aren't.

It's not often I can do this, but I take great pride in saying that I completely agree with yt in this thread.

I sometimes wonder if there's a slight chance that she's actually pulling some kind of Colbert-ian parody of right-wing pontificators and just not letting us in on the fact that it's a joke like Colbert does.
I think she honestly believes the thoughts underlying what she says. For example, like most Christians who feel the only way to salvation is believing in and following the teachings of Jesus Christ, she probably thinks the world would be a better place if everyone in the world followed the teachings of Christ. Nothing too controversial there. I mean, is there anything controversial about an atheist believing the world would be a better place if we rejected all religion? Or a Muslim believing the world would be a better place if all accepted Allah and the teachings of Mohamed? So there's often (but not always) some reasonable thought buried beneath her offensive rhetoric.

But Coulter deviates from decency by knowingly stating otherwise reasonable beliefs in the most blunt and obnoxious way in attempt to stir up controversy (Christians are "perfected" Jews, ie, Christians are superior to Jews). This leads to more tv appearances, speaking fees and book sales. Part of it is a joke to her, I'm sure. She probably gets satisfaction out of seeing her opposition get pissed at her obvious shtick. And it extends her 15 minutes and puts more money in her pocket. Best to ignore her and those stupid enough to put her on their programs. The ones I worry about are the ones who buy her books and think she speaks the truth.

Sometimes I wonder if the syphilis finally made it to her brain.
