Sounds great! Unfortunatly, it'll probably do Grindhouse numbers at the boxoffice, due to the majority of people being to stupid to understand it.

"Hey Ma, what the hell is this crap, it's all trailers 'n stuff?"

"Lets get the hell outta here, Pa, and go check out that new Wild Hogs sequel. I hear Larry the Cable Guy makes an appearance in it!"

Alls I ask is that Samuel L. Bronkowitz be brought out of retirement and given the respect he deserves.

I'm sure some of the trailers could be future classics, but if nobody came out for Grindhouse, which gave you entire movies by more prominent directors, I can't see this doing much business. I love those DVD compilations of old exploitation trailers, and have been known to spend hours surfing the web and watching various previews. However, even I think that this could wear people down a bit in the theater by the half hour mark.

Is this movie going straight to Youtube?

Based on that picture, I hadn't thought about it before, but I guess I would nail Heather Matarazzo.

A theater with a bar would be the best place to see this. Either way, a dvd could be a blast. Those trailer comps are great for parties.

I'm so there, provided this even gets a theatrical release.

Based on her preferences, she wouldn't nail you.

Jose Cuervo disagrees, knave!

Although a theater is the best environment for such trailers, the concept would be far better realized as a half-hour program on HBO or Showtime, or even late-night Comedy Central.

This sounds more like an homage to The Groove Tube, Tunnel Vision, and Kentucky Fried Movie.

I'm SO in.

I'll be seeing this right away. I'm still glad I was one of the few that saw Grindhouse on opening night. The audience is what made that experience so awesome. Half of em didn't get it, the rest had a blast. I'm a fan of Eli's and can't wait to see some new Thanksgiving footage.
Sounds pretty interesting, and I'll check it out, as I loved Grindhouse, and was there first day, first showing. This new Thanksgiving footage is just the icing on the cake.

Once again I'm reminded to pick up one of those 42nd street dvds

This has an opportunity to be great, but I kinda wish this was a collaboration between Eli and a bunch of other people instead of just Eli. Imagine Joe Dante, Edgar Wright, John Landis and Tarantino all doing this.

That'd be a fucking GREAT idea. Get all the Masters of Horror directors (Argento! Carpenter!), George Romero...everyone recruited would have other friends they could get in on it, and with only a two-minute trailer to shoot they could do some crazy one-off ideas without a big commitment.
Totally. This is a great idea but despite the fact that I am pumped for more Thanksgiving scenes but 90 minutes of Eli Roth ideas for fake films will likely be a letdown.

Of course, aside from the Grindhouse trailer I tend to despise Eli Roth as a director.

I like Eli Roth, I just think this kind of thing could grow dull with only one creative voice.

Patrick's idea is pretty great, gather all these director's together and hash out a bunch of trailers.
