More fun in Bryant Park - Page 2

Alex, I have an email notification in at Fandango.com to let me know what theaters are going to show The Mist. Easier to narrow it down from there once we know what theater it's playing at. I think that's the most reliable of the movie websites - when I took my niece and nephew to see Harry Potter, Fandango was the only site that let me buy tickets in advance.

Sounds good. We'll figure it out for sure when it's announced.

Village works with me for afterwards. I'm also a fan of Otto's Shrunken Head on 14th, but not sure if a Rockabilly bar is the place for everyone.

I don't know if it's a place for me, but I'm greatly intrigued.

I'll second (third, fourth?) The Mist. At the very least, most of the hoodlums going will at least be King fans.

Wait, so are we going to try and find a place that has a higher probability of falling debris and/or washed up actresses trying to capture that elusive paycheck?

Sorry for the sort of late reply, but I'd be down with meeting up with you guys as well. Keep me/us posted. The Mist sure seems like a pretty good idea, but anything would work.

It's a cool place. Tikis all over the place, cool people, (usually) good music. Live bands in the back most weekends. They've also got a photo booth from the 50s that spits out awesome black and white pics. No falling debris or potential lawsuits, unfortunately...

Glad to see so many of you would come out to this! We'll set it up better once theaters are announced.

Otto's is just down the street from me. I can vouch for it. Used to be the Barmacy, a much-missed Village institution, but Otto's makes up for it by being the sort of joint where bikers, hipsters, punks, cowboys, and Villagefolk can all grab a drink together.

The live music's always pretty good too.

Yeah, Otto's is awesome. Good choice, Alex!

Also, can we make this a sticky? Alex, do you have that capability? If not, who does?

Is there an echo in here?

My powers end outside the CC forums. I don't think they trust me with mod capabilities elsewhere, and for good reason. Not sure who else besides Nick has powers right now.

Let's just start a new thread maybe in the East Coast forums closer to the date... this one's not exactly descriptive of a get together. And maybe we should think about checking it out in a closer theater to Otto's- maybe the Regal at Union Square if it's playing it...

If it even matters anymore, for what they're worth, my 2 cents are that "The Mist" is the film of choice, and I've always been partial to the Village & SoHo or the Lower East Side, so that plan that's been unfolding above has my approval. Mid November will be tough, as I'll be at the Afterdark Horrorfest the week of 11/10, and out of town for a wedding the week of 11/17. But I'll make it my business to be at any date that doesn't conflct w/ either of those.

Well it looks like it'll be the 30th. But where are you seeing the Horrorfest? I should be getting passes to it and wouldn't mind meeting up with people- I had fun at it last time.

I'm seeing it at what was the only theatre listed as hosgting one in Jersey, as of September (the 1st time you could buy passesm on line). I forget the name of the theatre, but it's in Green Brook. Very close to home for me, but probably kind of a haul from Queens. Are any Jersey based chewers going to see the fest there?

I lack the capacity for intra-Jersey travel, as odd as that sounds...
