SNK Past, Present, and Future

SNK is my favorite game company. Metal Slug is my favorite game and series. I recently bought a PS2 just to buy Metal Slug Anthology. I also have 2 Metal Slug games on my cell phone. This post is all things SNK. King Of Fighters XI is released 10/24, and Neo Geo Battle Colliseum gets released 11/14. In 2008, Samurai Showdown Anthology, King Of Fighters Anthology, King Of Fighters 98, and SNK's Arcade Classics vol 1 arrive in the USA.

Wasn't Baseball Stars a great game? I loved building my franchise and upgrading the player ratings. The part of me filled with misogyny also leaved beaning the players on the ladies team.

Lots of nostalgia for Guerrilla War. Those Metal Slug games look cute but are tough as nails.

Chris Wood, That image is not from a Metal Slug Game, Is that Ikari Warriors III? Metal Slug is a 2D side scrolling shooter.

I can't believe I'm responding to a fleed post with a real question, but which system is the Samurai Showdown Anthology coming out on? I loved IV.

Soul Ahn Ice, Here is my real answer to your real question. Samurai Showdown Anthology slashes it's way onto PS2 in 2008.

Chris Wood, Sorry, I misunderstood you.

Ed Hocken, Metal Slug is repetetive, yet fun, for me. It is especially fun to play with a friend.

PS2 and Wii.

I'm waiting for KOFXII, which is finally being fully redrawn, next-gen style.

The japanese poster mentions it as "the next stage of 2D".... which makes some people worry it'll be a 2.5D game, like Battle Fantasia: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwjJa9l1cSo

I'm ambivalent about it. I would prefer true 2D, but... we'll see.

Orin Quon, Thank you for the update on the Nintendo Wii also receiving Samurai Showdown Anthology.

Orin, While you are waiting for King Of Fighters XII, (which might not come out in the USA til 2009) are you going to try SNK/Playmore's New fighter Neo Geo Battle Colliseum?
