Pelosi's War - Page 2

The neocon movement emerged as a moderate left reaction to economic and diplomatic policy (esp. in regard to Israel). Abortion, death penalty, and environmental stance don't actually play into it all that much. Many of the modern Bush-supporting neocons are certainly anti-abortion, pro-death penalty, and anti-environment, but, as I understand it, those are less central to their beliefs than a policy of interventionism, anti-communism, and slightly more government programs than paleo-conservatism.

The early neo-cons were basically liberals who pussied out on the New Left.

In any case, I don't think Prankster was wrong to use the term.

Actually, I think I used it, but someone else did use it before me in another thread.

When I called you a neocon, I merely placed your foreign policy views into the category that defines them. Your views on this war (regardless of how I any other person on this board feels about them) are most definitely neocon. mIf you have no problem calling others "Libz" why do you get mad when some one categorizes you? Furthermore, the neocons are selling us dreams of a great victory after a final decisive battle. Remember the football game analogy? Rememeber also that you said, if I remember with my shitty memory, that no one wants to "fight the good fight." Victory here is radically different. Some have even suggested the idea that at this rate, we will have only a pyrrhic victory.

Well now, witchesbrew, you have shed some light as to the inner workings of your mind. Many on the boards were baffled by the rhyme-and-meter posts.

Not to insult you, but I myself thought you were a child due to your "leetspeak." If you really believe in those aforementioned things (anti-death penalty, schip), why don't you post your two-cents on those boards (not that you have to)? I did notice an insinuation for support of gay rights from witchesbrew on the rumors of war thread. Are you afraid to be lambasted again? Just a question, really.

Besdies, those things in which you believe are considered "liberal" (now people are gonna get on me for calling them liberal), and this makes me wonder why, if you support these things, do you call others "libs?"

You know what, I might get flak for opening pandora's box, but what I am about to ask is out of mere curiosity. Who and what are you witchesbrew? Really. Its a no-bullshit question, as there must be some method behind the madness. Why do you feel the way you do? What are your other opinions? Are your feelings honestly hurt? If so, I apologize (yes I'm apologizing to him/her?).
Have liberals abused (verbally) you in your past? When you supposedly wake, will you seek revenge by fronting? What is the reason for the poem-posts and leetspeak? What are you, an english major? Whre you raised by conservo parents but you yourself take the position of liberal? No, I am not a stalker as you might call me, I'm just curious as to WHY?

Damn, I think you were as hammered/trashed/tore-up as I was, El Thain. Sweet PM though. I'm a goddamned independant with balls as big as the fucking state of Texas. And now I have come to understand I am a Neoconservative. Kewl beans. And yes my feelings are hurt.
