One of my favorite RPGs of all time is finally getting a sequel according to 1up.

Greatest news story ever, the original is the reason I flunked out of Journalism School.

It's also the only RPG which actually had me spending hours and hours just pimping up my island/sky ship.

Best video game news I've heard in a while, as the article states Skies of Arcadia is one of the best and most criminally overlooked RPGs of last generation.

I wonder if this will be a PS3/XBOX360 game or a Wii title?

And I hope this won't be the cell phone game that Sega announced the sequel would be back when the original came out.

This is good news. I'll be keeping my eye out for more info for sure. I was considering giving the Gamecube version another go at some point. I never finished it, and I own it for the Dreamcast and the Cube! It's like a disease...

Questions for those that have played it: I've considered picking up the Gamecube version but I hear it sucks compared to the Dreamcast version. Is the GC version good enough to warrant a purchase?

It's got a lot of additional bosses and the random battles are scaled back a little whilst, it's a more varied and much less maddening. Although the optional bosses are fucking hard as all hell.

Well that's not too bad. I guess I'll pick it up if I can find it cheap (not because of the game's value but because I don't really have the cash to blow on videogames I'd like to play but am in no rush to do so).
