Yes, Cracked still exists, and so on....everytime i post a link from that site I get that reply, so lets get it over with it.
Still, Id forgotten all about the Alien 3 teaser....dammit, talk about unfullfiled promises.
Most of the list is just wishful thinking and crap, but worth a look.

That's a lot of fish in a barrel type shit, but they found the perfect shot to illustrate the paragraph about an actor's frustration with acting in greenscreenland:

Lame. It's nothing but movies that didn't turn out the way he liked and games that haven't been made into movies. If you do an article like this and don't mention Ringworld or Stranger in a Strange Land, you have no clue what you're talking about.

This was a terrible list, I mean no Jodrowsky Dune? It was composed of mostly videogames, which we all know make terrible movies no matter who makes it. The tunnel vision of the author is striking.

They should make a poster with that Hayden Christensen picture.

the thing about Snow Crash -- it started as a graphic novel. so it really is made for visuals. But there are just HUGE stretches of fascinating information about the Sumerians that would never really translate that well. Still, that's a book that could still end up on the big screen once people start craving more matrix-y stuff.

damn i love Snow Crash....

the rest of the list is just refried arguments from countless forums (including here). oh well. everyone's got a blog to post on these days. it can't always be mindblowing.

Yeah! I just love having cut-and-paste Wikipedia entries placed between chapters of my teen literature!

With a LOT of work on the screenplay, Snow Crash could probably make an interesting film.

Man, you don't know what you just did. Snow Crash fans are the literary equivalent of Trekkies. Prepare to have your tires slashed, or whatever passes for that on the Internet.

I've already posted about my hatred for this piece of shit. I'm not scared of the, uh, Snowies?

I think those are fans of Tin Tin's dog.

Exactly what I was thinking.

That list if a fucking joke. That writer should go shoot himself. If he has kids, they should be returned to their parents, as the guy probably wouldn't have anyone sleep with him.

What the fuck?

From the entry on Doom.

Have you seen Verhoeven's Starship Troopers? Imagine that film without all the political bullshit that nobody involved understood anyway.

Agreed. My first thought upon seeing this thread title was for Valentine Michael Smith.

I found Snow Crash an utterly shallow, juvenile disappointment. I literally threw the book across the room when I came across one asinine plot device/characterization/dialogue too many.

I couldn't even finish the book. In it's defense, I probably would've liked it if I'd read it when I was 15.

On that note, I'm kinda glad the On a Pale Horse movie didn't happen.
Or anything else based on Piers Anthony, for that matter.
Oh, I think a short film adaptation of "On the Uses of Torture" would be kinda cool.
"On a Pale Horse" kind of was adapted in a far better form as the inspiration to the Showtime Series "Dead Like Me".

This screams "Masters of Horror" episode directed by Eli Roth.

I think there's a book with a similar title, going into the failed making of stuff like "Childhood's End" and such. Fascinating read, wish I could remember more about it.
