There's a 800 number on the page if you've missed the memo in that was mailed in one of your billing statmenets.

Yeah, this crap pisses me off. They try to sneak this in to try to create more scratch.

I've been a Verizon customer for better than 6 years and this is the first time I'm considering a move.

I think I heard about this and the person talking about it said that there might actually be a law against this. The law may be that if Verizon did want to sell your customer info, then the customer would have to opt-in.

Is there something on Verizon's website that states this? When I look through the documents linked there I don't see anything directly from the provider that would prove that the phone number itself isn't an information grabbing scam.

...why am I this paranoid?

EDIT: I called Verizon myself and they claim this is only for other companies that Verizon owns. The number is legit. I opted out a minute ago.
