Tommy Boy is on tv right now. I don't really care what Black Sheep you meant.

I was going to ask if you meant the Farley movie, but noticed this is in Creature Corner. If you mean the Farley movie, I thought it wasn't bad, if way too reminiscent of Tommy Boy. If you're talking about something else, don't know.

I saw the trailer, looked like an earlier Peter Jackson film. WETA did the effects, so I suppose I'll get around to watching it sometime.

I rented it last week. It wasn't as funny as I thought it would be but those were the cutest murderous sheep I've ever seen. Really great effects from WETA.

It was all right. Say, a B- for conception, high B for execution. Good loopy energy, nicely paced, doesn't take itself seriously for a minute, generally enjoyable while you're watching it, leaves your head the instant it's done.

Severance, the "other" genre-bending dark comedy of the same summer, was way better.

I agree. I didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped I would. The effects were great, and the story was pretty original, but it was just missing something for me. I actually got kind of bored with it at one point.

This is pretty much dead on how I felt, although I have yet to see Severance. I was however annoyed with the stupid hippies, I'm tired of people using that angle where they ruin it for everyone and nag and whine in the background, hippies are cool! (Well...some of them)

In all fairness, one of the hippies in the film did turn out rather better than she seemed at the start.

That's true, she was still kind of annoying though. I have a friend who is almost exactly like her.

This could have been so much crazier and better. I thought the lead was pretty much miscast and the sheep carnage could have been better. FX were okay, but I wasn't that satisfied. Especially the Mansheep should have done more.
