The chewer X-mas CD swap of 2007 - Page 2

please sign me up as well. I hope to impress.

Since we passed the signup deadline, should we extend it? What's the status with this? I NEED ORDER!
Fuck!

Randomising people now. Which is a lot harder due to the fact everyone has a bizarre little 'I don't want to pair up with *INSERT USERNAME HERE* because we've swapped before/they're objectivists/they smell/argh DUKE FLEED' caveat.

Andrew Collins - The LD

Anthony Solletico - Summer Smile

Bethediel - Diva

Miss Zooey - Dickson

Soul Ahn Ice - Spike

Dave B - Patrick Ripoll

Bendrix - Matt O Callaghan

Justin - Owen

Ryan S - Ninhead

Greg David - Parker

Radical Friends - Ryan C

CPN Spaulding - Raspberry Leper

Right the last three are uneven, so here's what I've worked out

Fat Dragon Sends a CD to Jonny Cinco

Jonny Sends a CD to Mattioli

Mattioli sends a CD to Fat Dragon.

Right, exchange addresses via PM and get to it. If you don't receive a PM from your partner by Friday post in here and I'll try and give you somebody else.

radical friends - I hope you like stuff that isn't "metal". I don't have a lot of tolerance for that stuff and won't be able to put any on a comp.

I do like Soundgarden (their early stuff was pretty hard), Tool and Fantomas. But I think of each of those in different categories.

I don't know whether to be offended or pleased that I'm classified as "metal."

I think I'm pleased.
Oh man. I am both super excited and super intimidated.

This thing just got interesting.

I think you mean "Shit just got real."

Shit just got real.

I expect suitably badass CDs, Ripoll.

Bad. Ass.
I think he's threatening you, Ripoll. You gonna take that?

Hint: you are.
And she should know.
Alright, so what kind of cool shit should I be expecting from Justin?
Polka. 90 minutes of Polka.

Enjoy your holidays, motherfucker.

(I kid. PM sent.)
Spike, I'm going to pay international shipping rates to send you a CD soundtrack to Aliens.

PM Sent

Awesome, it's the only CD missing in my 'James Horner: The same shit over and over again, but those horns are badass!' collection.
Thanks for taking the hit and doing the organizing Spike.
Miss Zooey, things have been crazy and you may not get your disc until after Christmas. Feel free to toss some early Wayne Newton on my disc as punishment.
Speaking of which, I've been drowning in final projects for classes last few weeks, Owen, but all goes well, your stuff should be off this weekend.
Me and Spike have swapped, via the internet to avoid int'l shipping fees and b/c Spike's CD burner isn't working. I haven't listened to it yet, but hope you liked your mix.

I swear, I sign up for this just in time for my computer, with 30 GB of music, to totally and completely die. So Diva's CDs are getting mailed today. One is mostly some R&B classics that no one's collection should lack; the other is mostly country; and there is some randomness thrown in for good measure. If I recover my old music collection you may get some more interesting punk, techno, oldies... We'll see how bored I get over the holidays!

No worries, I was in a pretty similar situation that had a similar effect on my mix-making.

That said, I've finished my little accompanying write-up and the song list, but now I have to retrieve a few songs off my office computer. I was hoping to have it wrapped up and sent today, but weird circumstances prevented it.
I hope everyone posts their results like the previous mixes. It's nice to see the variety of music people are into, maybe even a description will get someone (like me?) interested in finding out more about certain artists.

As I stated in the previous swap thread, I already sent my mix to JohnnyCinco, he seemed to like some of the weirdness. And I recieved Mattioli's Christmas Mix, which I enjoyed as well.
I totally blanked and forgot about this.
Give me a few days, Spaulding.
I've been caught up in school finals and holiday madness. But the playlist has been solidified and all I have to do is burn and send, Bele!
I just wanted to add that prior to our swap, Spike Marshall advertised a spoken word track about a penguin, and I laughed. After receiving his mix CD, I listened to said track about said penguin, and it is heartbreaking greatness. I will never mock your European-spoken-word-tracks-about-penguins knowledge ever again, friend.

Mine will be on it's way to ninhead in the new year!
Bele, did you get my CDs? I mailed them before the New Year and haven't heard back from you via PM or email. I want to make sure they didn't get lost in the mail.
