This film is so goddamn infuriating.
For the first 50 minutes it's the dullest 'Big City Folks Get Menaced By Mountain Folks' film you could imagine. The two heroes are horribly unlikeable, the dialogue is awful and the film seems to think the audience has never seen this kind of thing before and as such spins its wheels for ages. When one of the menacing villain is more charming than the good guys, something has gone awry.
However at the fifty minute mark something magical happens as the film kicks into gear and rewards the audience's patience with deaths which are so audacious and hilarious that the audience I was watching with gave them a standing ovation.
If I say that one involves a death trap which is essentially a pastiche of all the kills out of Hellraiser, one involves spring loaded vagina snare and the other involves a rotary blade you'll get an idea of how utterly insane the dull as dishwater film becomes.
