Meh. The only thing I'm hoping to get out of this is a good dvd release of the original. I love that flick.

I thought this remake was fairly blasphemous until I read this casting. Dylan Walsh is a great pick, and Adrianne Palicki being cast in anything is good news.

I've never seen the original so I don't know how nuts the lead is required to be. But Walsh is great whenever he loses his shit on "Nip/Tuck." Probable shitty remake or not, I'm glad he is getting a lead in a semi-major flick.

Wasn't John Locke from LOST the dad in the original?

They better keep the hitting Shelly Hack in the face with a telephone scene. Of course, I only love that scene because I can't stand Shelly Hack. Not sure how I'll feel about Sela Ward getting hit in the face with a cordless.

Quinn deserves something better. Did a good job as The Stepfather, but seriously, this remake is going to suck as much as the new Prom Night.

Fun trivia: Quinn appeared in three different roles on The X-Files and died in two of them. Played a clumsy cop early in the series, a super soldier later on and a bomb expert in the movie.

So, um... I see no reason for switching the sex of the kid. Gender-switching remakes never do anything with the change.
