"is about an over-the-hill grappler who comes back to the ring for One Last Match."

Sounds like an echo of Rourke's career path.

This is the first I've read about this trilogy (?). It seems like an April Fool's Day joke. I'm interested, I guess, but it just seems weird.

This flick (or series of flicks) reminds me of Mamet's Redbelt... what's going on with that one?

Between Mamet's flick, Aronofsky's and Dito Montiel's Fighting, we might have a heads-up as to what the dueling "same themed" flicks of 2008 will be!

So Mickey Rourke is the main star of this thing? I like the guy, but I'd also like Aronofsky to have a hit. I don't think Mickey Rourke is going to light the box office on fire, so I hope they cast some big supporting names.

I hope Aronofsky is making this in the "Beyond the Mat" vein and not the "Nacho Libre" one. It could very well be modeled on Jake the Snake's fucked up history. That is one depressing story.
