Solution to the "why don't you post about movies" argument?

I think I speak for most level-headed Chewers when I say that it'd be nice to see this subject NOT rear its ugly head again. So my question is for Nick and whoever helps him maintain the message boards -

Why not move the non-movie related forums to http://sewerchewer.com/ ? That is, if it's even considered "live" anymore. Once they're moved, you could even have a link somewhere on the boards at http://chud.com/forums saying something like "Want to discuss something else with CHUD Readers/Chewers? Click here".

This thread right here might be very short-lived if (a) Nick says "no" and, if so - (b) nobody comes up with an alternative. Either way, I wanted to ask the question and see what others think. I thought perhaps this is one way to give everyone what they want. And then we can all shut the fuck up about this.

I'd rather that there just be a separate website where people could post their "stories guaranteed to ruin your day." I've yet to see one that produced anything more than "That's terrible" or "Kill 'em". Every once in awhile you'll get a good bad taste joke, but the ratio of threads:good jokes is falling fast.

Or how bout Chud creates several separate forums where the people who want to talk about stuff unrelated to movies can discuss that stuff with the same people they discuss movies with?

I'm not a genius but I know that when I want to talk about Movies I post in those threads and when I want to post about Not Movies I post in those threads.

Honestly, I think the folks who only post in stuff like the Sex forum or the Chewers forum are missing some of the point and aren't getting the full effect, I'm more concerned with populating the site with material to worry too much about it. People who read the boards and don't read the site are dumb. They just are. They're lame. But, they're welcome to do so because they're the online equivalent of the folks who visit stores and never spend a dime. They just fill the place and make it look busier even though they're pretty inconsequential to the store's bottom line. That said, folks who do that and somehow block the ads... well, they're almost like shoplifters. I hope they get polio.

But, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. All we as site creators can hope for is that you guys stick around, read the main site, and try your damndest to contribute positively to the site and boards by participating in the discussion, telling folks in the real world about us, and maybe every now and then helping us out with a scoop, an amazon purchase, a link from elsewhere, or picking up some gear in the cafepress store.

All in all, I've adopted a very "soft sell" approach 'round these parts. I think we have an exemplary product here in CHUD.com and if folks don't see it. Fuck 'em.

I'm not going to ban or judge them too harshly. Life's too short.

No. It has come up a few times since then. Look, I understand both sides of the argument, but I enjoy the CHUD boards a lot more when people aren't constantly at each other's throats. And I agree with a lot of what Nick posted here. Especially this part:
