While my heart skips a few beats thinking about this, has anyone tried to do their own turducken? I'd be interested to hear if the results (and the recipe) were any good, i.e., more or less emphasis on the first four letters.

Now back to the thing at hand (and I did look at the earlier threads) -- has anyone tried the next step: deep fried turducken (like you'd deep fry a turkey)?

I'm making a MeatCake. It's cooking right now. If there's anything left, I'll take pictures. The Horde tends to decimate these things pretty quickly.

Two Thanksgivings back, we had a duck-stuffed turkey (if you're smart, you will become friends with chefs). It was good, and I can't imagine jamming a chicken in there would fuck it up in any way.

Ground Beef (Laura's Lean), a little salami and pepperoni for flavor and what was left over from the Ham.

I think the Ham was what killed it.

This how-to movie has all of the drama and detail of an alien autopsy video. I've watched surgical procedure training videos with less detail and sound effects.

Well, bought one for a large family get-together:
  • Since it incorporates turkey, there's no way we could finish it in even two sittings (11 people both times)
  • Very tender and juicy, but the stuffing seemed to be a bit too bland
  • Price was out of this world -- $200 for about 25 lbs!
I don't know if I'd do it again (probably not -- I think a roast goose would be money better spent) but it was fun while its lasting ...
