Amazon Voters Choice Deals - Anyone win?

Anyone vote and actually find out you got the deal? I voted for all days and got denied across the board. Some of the deals were so good I bet thousands and thousands of folks voted, so I'm sure the odds were against me.

I voted with two accounts that I had (one for Amazon Referral and one for personal) and my girlfriend did it as well and we never got selected for anything. I'm sure that there were a huge number of entries though. I wish Amazon would have said the total number of votes they got after the fact though.

I mean, was it 1/10,000 or 1/10,000,000?

I did this as well, and I eagerly opened all the emails only to find I was rejected each time.

Bitches.
That's what I'm thinking. Those deals were just too good to be true and who is going to prove Amazon honored these deals?

No way in hell did the Wii's go for $79. I can't believe anyone won.

It's not like they gave away thousands of them. They sold what, 200 Wii's at that price? A drop in the bucket for all the extra traffic they generated.

Was it only 6 rounds? I was under the impression we had a day or two left. Either way, I got nada.

actually, if i recall correctly, they were giving away 1000 at $79.

considering the demand and the supply issues, it was really a dumb thing for amazon to do.

i also voted and didn't win. the trick this year was that you could only have a chance of winning what you voted for, so you would have better odds by voting for the least popular choice. of course, the least popular choice wasn't always the best thing. but whatever.

I'm sure they took potential inflated profits due to demand into account before setting the price point. They bascially got a ton of people to visit their site (most for 6 days in a row), leading to increased sales and more visibility for their sponsors; I'd say it was actually a well-thought out marketing push.

They did the same thing last year with the 360, but after voting you had to log on at just the right time to get the deal. The problem was everyone else was trying to log on at the same time, making it nearly impossible to get one. This new method is much smoother and probably has the same odds of winning an item.

I could have won a new car, but that fuckin' little climber guy just kept yodeling and yodeling and it distracted me.

It felt good when that bastard fell off the mountain, damnit.

Well, I could try to explain it but basically ... the entire session from where you clicked on a link to go to Amazon will count towards CHUD. So as long as you got there from using the Amazon search box on the site or clicking a link here, they should get the reward.

For a Product sale to be eligible to earn a referral fee, the customer must click-through a Special Link from your site to the Amazon.com Site, and add the Product to his or her shopping cart or purchase the Product via our 1-Click feature during a session. The session ends upon one of the following events: (a) 24 hours elapses from the customer's initial click-through, (b) the customer orders the Product, or (c) the customer follows a third party's Special Link. We will only pay referral fees on eligible Products after order, payment and shipping have occurred.

To permit accurate tracking, reporting and fee accrual, you must ensure that the Special Links between your site and the Amazon.com Site are properly formatted. We will not be liable for paying referral fees on purchases that are not correctly tracked and reported because the links between your site and the Amazon.com Site are not properly formatted.

We will not, however, pay referral fees on any Products that are added to a customer's Shopping Cart or are purchased via our 1-Click feature after the customer has reentered the Amazon.com Site (other than through a Special Link from your site), as determined by us, even if the customer previously followed a link from your site to the Amazon.com Site. In addition, gift certificates that are not redeemable on the Amazon.com Site are not eligible to earn referral fees.

You may not purchase products during sessions initiated through the links on your site for your own use, for resale or commercial use of any kind. This includes orders for customers or on behalf of customers or orders for products to be used by you or your friends, relatives, or associates in any manner. Such purchases may result (in our sole discretion) in the withholding of referral fees and/or the termination of this Agreement. Products that are eligible to earn referral fees under the rules set forth above are referred to as "Qualifying Products."

Lisa- There's a search box at the bottom of the right hand column on the site that would probably be the path of least resistance for you.

I was denied on all fronts on these deals. As for the Wiis, yeah, there were 1000. Also, I've read elsewhere that everyone who bought a Wii via Amazon on Friday got free "extras". Wii Play + remote + Nunchuck, if I remember right. Lucky bastids.
