I.. I may have been too harsh on Miyagi and Fleed..

(If this has been done before, please hit yourself with a frying pan until the memory fades)

Anyone else, anyone who's been here for any solid length of time, or join up when they were still a "youngin".. ever actually go back and re-read all the posts you made in your infancy on the boards?

Tonight, I did just that. God help me I did.. and it was devastating.

And no, Mr. Smartass, I didn't go all the way back to January '07 to see what I used to post like. I went back to the big double goose-egg, 2000. See, this is my 3rd moniker on the site. In 2K, when I first signed up.. it was under FallenAngel_045. Yeah, don't ask. After getting tired of having that chick sounding name, I changed it in '03 to AxeMurderer_108. Yeah, yeah.. I know. The less said about either of those, the better.

THE POINT is, I went back and re-read about 100 of the 400 and something posts I had on my original account, and it's downright embarassing. I made the guys who catch the most flak around here these days look like rational, well-spoken, amazing contributors to the boards

Check out these nuggets of pure concentrated wisdom:

lets see.. the grand tally of spider-man powers.. he can stick on walls .. has good agility (so do olympic contenders).. and can sense things just before they happen (he has a good reaction time)

having some fluid shoot from his wrists totally overblows the "more human then ure average superhero" quality spidey seems to have.

how the hell would he shoot shit outta his wrists 50 feet to a rooftop? does he have some kinda bone launchers in his arm? come on.. his devices make so much more sense..

dont count on that logan.. my psychic preminition tells me it will turn into the next batman.. the sequel will do *moderately* well.. altho not as good as the first.. then the director will say "screw it"..they'll replace him with a loser.. and the other 1-2 movies will have way too many characters.. with no story for anyone.. and the series will be dead by 2007

oh oh i almost forgot.. theyll butcher all the characters like batman and robin butchered BANE. Theyll have Blob.. and he'll be like a 250 pound guy.. and theyll have juggernaught and he'll be a former mr. universe (still not big enough!!!!) and mr. sinister will be a normal lookin guy (not all white skinned) and he'll have some black buisness suit..

Butchered i tells ya! i hate to see it happen but it will!!
I'll stop right there before I get flooded with long-overdue neg rep or something, haha. Anyone else look back into their posting history, only to be slapped in the face by the harsh kung-fu hands of reality? Or was everyone at the time just 'dumbing it down' for me?

I've been here since 2000, and I can't even look at any thread I made or posted in since, say, late 2005.

Actually, you weren't too far off the mark here.
Yeah...I started posting here when I was 15 so...hehe...
One of the first threads I started was about how the new Batman movie should be based on Knightfall.

I think about that and want to garrote myself.
I'm sure I've got some howlers in my past, but my 'all posts' list stops with the most recent 500. Digging through old subscribed threads can be a chore-- is there a preference setting I'm overlooking that would access my complete posting history?
I pretty much ignore anything I've posted that hasn't been within the last year.

And yes...I've done the trolling through old subscribed threads thing, too. I immediately sent a couple of incredibly belated apologetic PMs to people at which I'd spewed my special brand of moron.

Holy crap. Star Chamber. The boards seem less menacing without the need for it. Maybe someday it will return when all of the trolling from the 03-mid 04 era returns. So let it be written, so let it be done.

That elusive Star Chamber thread everyone mentions is like the Kennedy Files. It won't be opened until all who posted around that time no longer visits these boards.

Does anyone still use the super secret other Chud board that existed around that time? What about Devin's personal board?
I think my first post might have been about what peoples' favourite Michael Bay or Paul W.S. Anderson thread was, not sure. I'm glad to say I still maintain these levels of intelligent discussion after all those years.

Wow.
Ah, Star Chamber. I was a lurker in those days, and finally decided to join up once it broke up.

Actually that's not even true, miyagi's pissed off, and Fleed got old long ago, I guess I'll just have to shit... in my head?
Kinda weird how Devin used to rail against someone trying to control how the boards are run.
Sackley, What did I ever do to you to make you hate me so much that you are my personal J.Jonah Jameson?
duke fleed, do not worry. I will be your personal Harry Osborn sans Goblin attacks. Or perhaps I will be a wise Ezekiel to warn you from the many Morluns on these boards.
Thank You... Luca S...for the support.
duke fleed, watch out! It is a Morlun! He will absorb your totem powers!
I don't have to go back myself, I have a slew of eager beavers waiting to remind me every day.
Eh, I was right about some things. I was wrong about some things. Pretty standard, really.

I drink alot.

However, your posts seem fine now, so I'm assuming there was some "Henry Higgins" along the way who put you on the path to gud spellinz.

You know, I may have thought not capitalizing my I's, using apostrophes, or spelling out full words was like, rebellious or something. Too cool to hit the shift button just because 'the man' says so, and all of that. But really, there is no excuse for ever using the spelling 'ure'. (*hang head in shame*)

It also helps that these days, I don't post the first thought that comes to mind when discussion comes up, or at least not nearly as often. Usually, as I sit back trying to think of a more eloquent way to make my point, I realize I don't really have a point to make, or someone else has already said it better, and I just move on. And the world is a better place for it.

---Now this is where everyone can start pointing out all the posts where I just echo what someone said earlier without adding anything to the discussion.---

My first thread was about how my Poly Sci teacher looked like William Hootkins. Bob Clark told me that I failed. It slowly got better, but slowly.

As for right now, well, although it kinda nags at me that it cost $160 millon to make what is essentially a Saturday matinee film, since that Saturday matinee flick entertained the hell out of me, I can't say it was wasted money.
.....and I am sorry.

But I think that comes from the anonymity of a crap username. If you use your real name there is a better chance of the real you coming out.

That's just my opinion.

This is why I will never get a tatoo. I'm so embarassed by everything I thought and said 2 years ago that I can't imagine branding myself for life with whatever bit of wisdom I'm currently impressing myself with won't lead to further humiliation and regret in the not-too-distant-future.

I started out here back in the day as Nanoblech. The Matrix sequels were coming at us full force and I was getting my geek groove on and wanted in on the discussion. Hopefully I haven't been TOO utterly useless around here over the years... maybe I will go back and check up on myself at some point.

Anyway I still dig the hell out of the Matrix and its sequels (though not in a raving fanboy sort of way... I hope) as can be evidenced by my groovy avatar (provided by CHUD) and that little bit of text below my name. I've considered changing both at times, but since I am a creature of habit it has not happened yet. Not to mention my fear of being less noticed than I already am if I change them and leave people wondering who the hell I am. (self esteem issues? NAH!)

When it comes to Devin, you have to remember the old saying: If you aren't a champion of the common newb when you're at 1000 posts, you have no heart. If you aren't an insufferable elitist curmudgeon when you're at 10000 posts, you have no brain.
There's no way any one regular poster would have the stamina to keep up the fleed persona for so many months and hundreds of posts. The only way he's a fake is if a group of 1337 members hatched him and pop in to play the fool when the mood strikes.
The very first thread I started was about YOUNG SHERLOCK HOLMES.

Yup, I was courting controversy from day one.
My first thread was "If Hollywood Was My Bitch." I wish I posted that yesterday!
I apparently really liked Natural Born Killers but was unable to give any real argument as to why. I was 15-16ish, I believe. Something tells me that I won't like that movie nearly as much if I watch it again.

I just want to know what the thread was that you and I were arguing in that apparently got deleted by Star Chamber. I can't remember shit I posted 2 weeks ago, but I don't remember them carpet bombing my threads.
I've only recently been posting - I was a lurker for a few years. However...

I used to enter a few of the contests back in early high school (under various emails and addresses) with some of the most asinine attempts at jokes. I'm sure if I ever got on Nick's bad side, let's just say he's got some leverage.
Who gives a shit.
I did feel as though I was under unusual scrutiny when I logged onto Chud today.

At least PJ seems to be on my side.
Martin Savage, Miyagi is not me. I'm blooming, what am I...A flower?

Schwartz, I'm glad you see I am not fake. Thank You for noticing.

Sackley, If you like the AICN boards so much, why don't you go there?
I'm sorry you don't share my interests, but you win some you lose some.

Man, that thread is through the looking glass. I don't think I've ever seen Nick yell at Devin before. It also took me a second to realize that "Faux Elite" was Devin's screenname, and not an insult being hurled by Micah.

Post-revamp bump for this bad boy.
