I'm not sure how many of the Chewers have found this blog online, but it's fun place for comic fans.

The site owner posted pictures from his private collection and sketches he commissioned from other artists to make up the master archive.

The hook: Each artist/writer/whatever is asked to create a drawing based on their favorite literary character.

The latest one is Michael Golden doing Tom Swift.
Check it out, it's pretty fun.

Nice stuff, although the way Clarke was drawn. You would swear he came out of a Ren & Stimpy episode.

Well, that's going to take up the rest of my afternoon.

Holy shit, now that looks like something out of a Ren & Stimpy cartoon.

Heh Chaykin's rendition of Zuckerman looks oddly like Chaykin. What a surprise!

I dug Bryan Lee O'Malley's one. Even though I have no real clue who that character is and that was even after looking at the Wikipedia link to it.

The Mignola Jacob Marley is fucking awesome. I would pay serious money for a Christmas Carol with illustrations by him.

I love the different media and styles. Makes me want to take an art class again. Anyone know of a good one in the LA area?

He needs to approach Liefeld. I want to see a picture of Jack Kerouac covered in tits and pouches.

Yeah, that's all kinds of awesome.

It's kind of fitting that Aparo and Grell drew detectives.
