Ginger Beer

I'll be fucked if I can't find more than one case of Dr. Pepper a time at the stores here in the boonies, but goddamn if this shit isn't the equivalent of liquid crack.

Just saying.

Try it mixed with dark rhum. I worked really hard at getting a drinking problem last summer with that mix.

I learned to love that shit while I was in Australia. It really is great though.

I've never had ginger beer per se, which I understand is different from ginger ale in some way. I am a big fan of ginger ale in general, but was recently reminded how much I LOVE Blenheim's Hot Ginger Ale. This might be a local South Carolina phenomenon (I go to Myrtle Beach a lot, and can't even find it there; I have to travel an hour each way to Georgetown to get some), but if you can ever get your mitts on this stuff it's just incredible. HOT as hell, particularly on the exhale, as anything w/ a lot of ginger in it's bound to be, but balanced by plenty of cane sugar. It might be an acquired taste, but I think it's just delicious.

Yeah, this stuff is delicious and too hard to find.

Hmm, so wich one were you talking about? Ginger ale or beer?

I'm referring to the non-alcoholic ginger beer stuff.

I checked and what I have is ginger beer. I've got about 50 bottles. In September, a grocery chain I use had a special on it so I went overboard with my purchases to stock up for next summer.

I don't have the same desire to drink it mixed with rhum now that winter's coming (it looks like fucking January here in Montréal!) but come May, oh man this is gonna be good!

Is there alcoholic ginger beer? And is it like if root beer had alcohol in it? Cuz I've always dreamed of beer that tasted like root beer.

I can't help but be reminded of the Fawlty Towers episode in which the fat, faux hotel inspector demands an ice bucket for his ginger beer.

Exactly the rum I've got. I also really like Meyer's for this mix.
