Cool, but I'll be honest: I never understood how the thing was supposed to work. And I've seen the movies a few times (not lately though).

Try smashing your head on a toilet.

Try falling off your toilet and hitting your head while trying to hang a clock. Then you'll understand.

(The real question is why you would need a clock in the bathroom)

EDIT: Damn you Horrid.

Where are you supposed to get the plutonium to power the motherfucker?

You wait until 2015 and get a Mr. Fusion.
Just get a handy dandy Mr. Fusion and you wont need plutonium stolen from terrorists anymore.

Edit: Damn you Mike!

But will it answer the impossible question... "How the hell did he change his clothes so fast?"

That'll do, Billy. That'll do.

What sucks for you, is that you actually posted before me, but I traveled back in time and got in first. I also introduced your parents (one of whom is now me) to rock music, you are welcome.

I'd prefer you call me Darth Vader from the planet Vulcan. I will now melt your brain.

Wait, wasn't that actually the plot of the first movie?

Yes.
This has been one of the funniest threads I've read in a long time.

Also, the replica is useless without a mounting kit for your car.

Nice gizmo, but I think it would actually be cheaper to build a time machine from scratch than it would to buy a DeLorean. Those fuckers are expensive!
Does it make the noise or do you have to supply the sound effects yourself?

Look I'm sure in 2015 you can just walk into any drugstore and pick up a Mr. Fusion. But in 2007, it's a little hard to come by.

I could sell you one (though it's actually a shoddy Mr. Fusion casing full of old pinball machine parts. Shit, I shouldn't have told you that.)
Well actually it's a good thing you did. Otherwise my associates and I would have to hunt you down in this ice cream truck I acquired and machine gun you down in a parking lot.

Umm.... you clearly aren't that big a nerd. She was quoting Marty when he finds Oh La La in the Sports Almanac's cover.

After going thru that Alamanac. I ask myself, why didn't I bet on the Cubbies?
I love the Back to the Future franchise as much as the next guy, but $275 bucks for a replica Flux Capacitor? This isn't exactly a reforged Narsil or the Samaritan or something. It's a box, with 3 lightbulbs in it.. and a dimmer.

Usually I'm all over this kind of shit, but I just picture myself getting home with the thing, tearing open the box it came in, flicking the power and marveling at how 'the light turned blue just like in the movie!'.. and then a few moments later, wondering how hard it will be to cram into my closet full of other assorted junk.

I think you marveled too much about the dust jacket.

I agree that it is a bit much. I mean my master replica lightsaber is probably cooler and that was like $100. My replica of the Maltese Falcon was only like 60 bucks. So $275 for the Flux Capacitor is a bit over priced... but I still must have it (plus I would stick it on the wall, rather than shove it in the closet), and I look forward to what's next as I assume this will become a line of BTTF props.

Hey I had to, it's rare you come across something like this seeing how books and magazines are made with dust-resistant paper.

They look like LED lights actually... which appear to be blue. Problem there being that it is regular white light in the movie.
Yeah, I think your right on that one. But for the purposes of making it sound like the cheapest craftsmanship possible for a $275 price-tag, I stand by my lightbulb statement.

There's some Griff helmets still available.

There's no way I would pay 150 bucks for a replica of the Flux Capacitor, but I might shell out 15 for a Griff hat.
