Stupid, leaky washing machine...

A question for the more handy-capable of the bunch (notice the y in handy)...

I noticed earlier that water was leaking from the bottom of my washing machine. I immediately checked the hoses and the connections - all dry. I check the drain hose, it was properly connected and all of its connections were dry, so that leaves something internal. I washed two loads last night with no problem and the only thing different between then and now was that last night's washing was done in cold water, while today's was done in hot.

Obviously there's something wrong with the hot water pump, but the question I have is is it okay or advisable to hook the washer back up and just wash with cold water, or do I need to keep it on the injured list until I have a repairman take a gander at it? Common sense says I'm fine to use it considering it I used it to great effect last night, but after all the mopping I've done today I'm a bit paranoid to plug then damn thing back in. If any of you could offer up some helpful info I'd greatly appreciate it!

I think you're good, personally. Although, I always wash on cold, so I have very little experience with hot water pumps.

As Jared said, wash on Cold only as I do.
Or.....change cycle to hot, put your finger on the lid button that cries "Stop" and see what the scoop is. Careful for the rinse cycle....... Sounds like a hose Prob.

Brew
