Dane Cook is pathetic. If you check iTunes, his fucking podcasts are always in the top 10. That's fucking sad.

Bill Hicks could kick Dane's ass. And I mean Bill in his current state.

I can admit to finding some of his stuff pretty funny (the bit about being in a pool and coming up for air under a kid on a raft never fails to crack me up), but the more and more I hear of him I realize he's mainly for freshman-junior college students.

Edit: I'd see Dave for six hours. I really would.

On a bit of a tengent, I think it would really help American Muslims as a whole if guys like Chappelle, Mos Def, Keith Ellison and Will Smith(?) would get together and remind people that American Muslims are one of the most well-adjusted minorities in the country, with typical earning power in line wth the national average and with a decided lack of ethnic ghettos*. Model citizens such as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar would be great examples, but their Arabic names might unfortunately muddle the message. It's not their responsibility, but it would be a nice thing to do.

In the new Men's Vogue Will Smith all but admits to being a Scientologist (unfortunately).

It seems insanely unlikely, but a pre-stardom Cook was fairly funny in Michelle Yeoh's THE TOUCH. But never watch that piece of crap, ever.

Chappelle's shaming of Cook is even more impressive when you measure it in terms of jokes. In 6 and 1/2 hours for Chappelle would involve telling a hundred straight jokes from memory. For Cook, it's 4.5 stories. Or as I call them, rhetorical adventures.

Seems like a lot of work for Chappelle to keep his record. He should have just waited for Cook to take his shot and hire Mercury Morris to sit in the club and heckle him.

In what is becoming a heated battle between the two comedians, Cook told jokes at the Sunset Strip comedy club for 7 hours, beating the record Chappelle, 34, set at 6 hours and 12 minutes in December.

Cook went on stage Tuesday and continued until nearly 7 a.m. Wednesday, and at one point even sent out for food to keep the audience fed and happy.

"If this rivalry keeps up I'm going to turn the Laugh Factory into a bed and breakfast," club owner Jamie Masada said.

Last April, Cook set a record with an act lasting 3 hours and 50 minutes, breaking a mark set by Richard Pryor in 1980 of 2 hours and 41 minutes. Chappelle broke the record later that month, then broke his own record in December.

Cook, 35, most recently appeared with Steve Carell in the film "Dan in Real Life."
