DC Chewer meet up TONIGHT

Thread Starter
It was suggested I start a thread for people who may not bother checking the year old DC Chud night out thread.

If anyone in the DC area wants to, come join me, LD, LeFors, Chris Wood, thecallahan at Bangkok Joe's on K St. at 5:30 and Beowulf at the Loew's across the street (in RealD) at 7:00. If you want, come to Bangkok Joe's whenever, leave a message and we'll look for you. We have reservations under the name "Cobretti" and a few open seats since three had to drop out.

Good call on starting this thread, I'm not sure how many people check the other one. I'd definitely like to meet as many people as possible tonight. Hopefully, some of you are cooler than FrankCobretti, the quitter.

A limp tree with a round, blue ornament? Charles Shulz: Master of subtle phallic imagery.

^^^

Frank, having heard your insults, waiting outside the restaurant.

LD: sees cocks everywhere.

tee-hee!
I'll laugh a lot if it turns out I know one of you mopes.
What the? Who got to Cobretti?
I don't know, but I know this means that someone else is going to have to buy the Patron.
Dammit, nevermind. A combination of being too exhausted and broke. I'll make the next one, I'm sorry to miss out.
Shit. I was going to make Angelo buy the Patron.
F'reals.

This outing is piling up quite a body count.
Might need to call up some scabs.
Even so, we're still only a little over 2 hours away from pulling this thing off without Cobretti, who everyone knows is the unofficial Mayor of the DC Chewers. Let's stick together, guys; we can do this!
Neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow, my friend.
Well, mother nature is testing that theory. But with nothing on the roads, we should be in good shape.
Well, I'm headed out. Unless traffic is just horrific, I should be more or less on time. See you guys in a bit!

Well, I just wanted to say it was great meeting everyone. And that Cobretti is all class. I owe you a drink, man. Hearing the waitress walk over saying "This is compliments of Mr. Cobretti" was more than memorable.
I just got home, took forever and what a horrible day to lose my ice scraper! Stupid cab driver wanted 9 bucks to drive 6 blocks or so. Thank god I asked before I got in! Great meeting everyone! We definitely have to do it again in January.

And thank you Cobretti for the shots!
I wouldn't thank Frank too much until you're sure those shots weren't laced with poison. People don't forget something like being called a Lucy.
Though we did our best, truly there's only one of us cool enough to go by "Cobretti." Thanks for the shots (again).

Glad a few of us made it out anyway. Hopefully before too long we can hold a bigger gathering.
Great time last night, guys. Good to see LD and Chris again, and to meet Soul and Callahan. And Cobretti is officially the Greatest Man Alive. There can be no debate about this.

Beowulf was fun -- definitely a different and interesting way to experience a movie, so good call on that (even if it didn't have enough cock for LD's liking...).

Looking forward to the next gathering. Cloverfield, RAMBO, whatever...count me in!

There's never enough cock for LD's liking. But the movie was actually more entertaining than I thought it would be.

And Frank, we have a picture for you...if LD ever bothers to get it uploaded and posts it.
I'm glad you guys had a good time. Hopefully, I'll be there for the next round!
I think the hope is for January, Frank. Assuming you can manage to be a decent parent in the interim, of course. Remember: buy your children's love with expensive gifts at Christmas.

It really was a good time, and the shots gave us all a huge laugh. I said to Soul this morning that I much preferred the dinner to the movie. I just had a good time talking about all things nerdy with you guys. Beowulf was fine and all (maybe slightly overlong), but I could've definitely done another hour of awesome thai food and drinks.
Agreed. We were constrained by showtimes because of the nature of this particular movie, but let's shoot for an earlier movie next time, so we can eat and booze and shoot the shit for as long as we want to afterwards.
I can always do with another hour of Thai food and drinks. For January I agree with Rambo, Cloverfield, or maybe Be Kind Rewind. Or Dungeon Siege. Yeah, I said it.

There Will Be Blood!!!!

I would've personally liked another hour (at least) of discussion on Dune or how much of a douche Tim Tebow is.

If I could, I'd give you 1,000 rep points for this.

(Along those lines, I almost neg-repped callahan this morning for the "I hate Hines Ward" comment, but relented and greened him instead. I wanted to prove that I, like Hines Ward, am a champion).

How can you hate on, as LD put it, "The NFL's leader in smiles"?

I threw some rep Chris's way just for being a Dolphins fan.

As for Hines, I'm waiting to see how his date with the Patriots turns out. He better not take no for an answer.

Goddammit, now I'm really pissed I missed this.
Allow me to present to you the conclusion we reached:

Tim Tebow is an enormous douche.

Edit: I really enjoyed the "when authors should have died" portion of the conversation. Nothing healthy about that at all.

Ahem...the photo. Some people in this photo deserve to have a serious issue with how they look. I'm not going to label who is who, in case there are any privacy concerns. Please note that NOBODY is wearing their glasses in order to feel cool.

Was that guy having a seizure as he took the picture?
Hahahaha...that's hilarious. If I didn't know that was me, I wouldn't have recognized myself. (Unless my nose really does take up half my face).

No, I think he was just breathing hard from the walk out of the theater. That's what we get for having Mark Mangino take the photo.

Kind of looks like you're part of some movie poster we're standing in front of.
Seriously, I look like Grendel. And not Grendel the DC Chewer, Grendel the howling demonic beastman.
