For those Chewers in Calgary and environs one of the shows I worked on this year will be playing at the Uptown theatre this weekend. It's a bit of an absurd comedy/thriller with Tricia Helfer, Leelee Sobieski and Lothaire Bluteau. Pretty solid performance all around and really great sound!

Walk All Over Me opens in Calgary December 7

Leelee Sobieski and Tricia Helfer feature wowed a packed audience at the
Calgary International Film Festival’s Volkswagen Gala

December 4th, 2007/CALGARY - Calgary-based CHAOS a film company’s feature, “Walk All Over Me,” the coming of age crime-thriller about a small town girl who runs into big time trouble as she assumes the dominatrix identity of her roommate to pay the bills, is opening theatrically on December 7 at the Uptown Stage & Screen in Calgary.

On Friday, December 7, Carolyn McMaster (Producer) and Jason Long (co-writer) will be in attendance.

On Saturday December 8, Robert Cuffley (director), Carolyn McMaster (Producer), Jason Long (co-writer), Mike Shields (composer), Ken Filewych (editor) and Frank Laratta (sound mixer) will be on hand to answer questions. Join them afterwards for a drink in The Marquee Room, located on the mezzanine level of The Uptown and voted Calgary’s best new bar by FFWD readers.

“Walk All Over Me” is written, directed, edited, produced and musically scored by Calgarians. This was one of the major reasons the film was selected as the Volkswagen Gala Premiere at this year’s Calgary International Film Festival, where it was enthusiastically received by a capacity crowd – coincidentally – at the Uptown on September 22.

And after receiving critical and audience acclaim at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival in September, where “Walk All Over Me” had its world premiere, US distribution rights for the feature was picked up by the Weinstein Company.

"Walk All Over Me" stars multiple Golden Globe nominee Leelee Sobieski (“Joan of Arc”) as the runaway and Alberta-born Tricia Helfer (“Battlestar Galactica”) as the dominatrix. In addition, the feature stars Genie Award winner Lothaire Bluteau (“Jesus of Montreal”) as an unsavoury man looking to recover his stolen money. Also featured in the cast are Genie Award winner Jacob Tierney (“Twist”), Michael Adamthwaite (“Catch and Release”) and Michael Eklund (“88 Minutes”).

Robert Cuffley (“Turning Paige”) directed the feature from a script he wrote with Jason Long.

Carolyn McMaster (“Turning Paige”), Colin Neale (“Margaret’s Museum”) and Kyle Irving (“Capote”) are the film’s executive producers. The director of photography is Norayr Kasper (“The Death and Life of Nancy Eaton”), music composition is by Mike Shields (“100 Days in the Jungle”), with Ken Filewych (“Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning”) serving as the film’s editor.

"Walk All Over Me” is produced by CHAOS

I was just at the uptown last Friday to see Lust, Caution and saw an ad for this movie, think it was a picture of Leelee in some kind of uniform, military or something? Thought it looked interesting then, knowing the background on the film makes me even more curious to check it out. Is it only playing this weekend though? I'm already pretty booked up

It should be playing all week.

The scene is Leelee dressed in a military uniform pretending to be a dominatrix. It's pretty early in the flick.
