Definitely not the gothic atmosphere we were expecting.

I'd like to hear some more background on Hammer films relaunching, as I'm betting that some new studio investors just bought the name to use on advertising, instead of relaunching the studio to bring about a resurgence of those type of films.

If someone can verify the latter, or at least that someone who was actually associated with the studio in their hey-day is on-board, I have zero hopes for anything that gets produced under that banner.

Hammer is about atmosphere as much as anything else and that trailer doesn't look Hammer-esque. I'll watch the first few episodes but I'm not holding out much hope.

Name only. Producer John de Mol bought it. He's the creator of Big Brother.

Amen. I'm quite sure this guy isn't going to get it but I'm such a sucker for the Hammer name that I'm still optimistic. I really miss atmospheric, creepy thrillers stacked with character actors.
